Louis The Child presents: Black Marble (Live at Burning Man 2022: Ego Trip)

One of my favorite DJ sets at the Burn this year was on top of the Disco Space Shuttle art car on Thursday night from 11pm to 2 am. It was an incredible cosmic ride into Deep Playa. 

The soil condition was so bumpy that it created an unforgiving DJ desk surface to those of us who prefer not to play with the Sync button on. I could had gone that way but I decided to let the challenge seep through the mixes and allow for the experience to be recorded as raw and human as possible, full of flaws and the highlighted reality that the playa surface was still wrecked from the previous year's Renegade Burn, and a lack of rain on the playa which did not allow for the lake to form for as long as it normally does between Burns. The earth climate is changing, and the heat at the Burn this year was present for most of the 24hrs of each day. 

I hope you enjoy this eventful ride into Burning Man outer-space!

I was given the honor of playing for @opulentchillmusic at 5pm on burn night (Saturday) at this year's Burning Man. I contemplated leaving the event when driving a friend to Reno on the Thursday before but had spent more than a month collecting and cultivating some music and returned to BRC beyond excited to play... until the weather took a turn for the worst and forced me to miss my set while sheltering in place (you may have seen the news).

A friend and I spent more than eight hours exiting the city (the time it took to reach actual road/pavement) yesterday, and I'm beyond grateful to be home. I wanted to record a mix while my feelings about the past few days and our shared experiences (trauma bonding?) were still fresh. I hope you enjoy!

Thank you so much to Opulent Chill for the opportunity to play and to the amazing friends who took me in when it was clear that my tent situation was not going to work with the incoming weather. This was my first trip to the Joshua Tree Music Festival.  It definitely lived up to and exceeded any expectations I may have had.  The beautiful community of music enthusiasts it attracted was second to none.  They came with me wherever I went musically.  There's nothing like being physically present, but I'm trusting some of the magic from that beautiful evening under stars will translate via this recording into something that will leave your soul smiling. Here lies my latest aural offering from the Lincoln Speakeasy last Saturday June 11, 2016.  It was a deep, intimate vibe in there, I believe I was able to reflect via the decks and some new and classic sonic pearls.  Enjoy!

Sonic love travels in many dimensions and as it relates to music, Marques Wyatt is a seminal pioneer as undoubtedly amongst the most respected DJ's in the United States and a West Coast legend.  In addition to producing some of LA's most legendary clubs / events, many associate him with "DEEP," the illustrious event that he nurtured in his hometown of Los Angeles-thriving and continuing today for well over 16 years. He was voted Best DJ of 2014 by LA WEEKLY and recently #2 in LA's TOP 20 DJs.  Last year, his two performances at Coachella were very well received and allowed Marques to continue ushering in some new followers.  He is one of the few dj's that have managed to cross pollinate and merge at least two generations of music fans on his dance floors . Thus, he is in demand at clubs, as well as on the festival circuit alike. Marques' unerring, knowledgeable selections are sure to stir up some emotions and known to turn huge dance floors into an intimate ritual.
