The frigid, wintry air rushed against the ice-encrusted beard of our hero. Particles of frozen beard glistened like diamonds in the overbearing sun — yet the blue skies betrayed the antarctic temperatures. Emaciated, sunburned, and with skin tougher than leather, The Bearded Man forged on.

The sat phone was waiting for him at the South Pole, but could he make it in time? His last food ration was eaten days ago, and who knew when or if he would finally reach his destination. Incredulous and delirious, The Bearded Man finally reached the pole. With his left hand, he clutched the rod, and he raised his right towards the heavens. Lightning struck his hand, and suddenly he found himself holding a Platinum Record. Kungs & Harold van Lennep found our hero in his victorious stance and ushered him into a nearby tent for cocoa and stories.

And so, the much-anticipated sequels to ‘Are You With Me’ were born.

The 37th release on microCastle finds the label revisiting King Unique's Beatport #1 release 'Some Break The Shell'. The four track EP released in April of 2014 found the storied UK producer showcasing some of the most diverse and poignant work of this career. Now to kick off 2015 we see four brand new interpretations courtesy of Dubspeeka, Jamie Stevens, Pedram and Petrels.

The lone interpretation of 'Some Break' is provided by microCastle label artist Jamie Stevens. The Aussie producer is now making his fourth appearance on the label and first of 2015. Jamie has achieved an amazing level of critical and commercial success over the course of his career. As one of Australia's most talented and sought after music producers he has proven his skill in professional sound design, music scores for film and contemporary dance music. As the founding member of Infusion, the much-loved Australian electronic live act, he's left his mark around the globe, headlining some of the biggest and most respected clubs including; Fabric- London, Pacha - Buenos Aires, Womb- Tokyo and festivals such as Glastonbury, Coachella, Roskilde and Creamfields in Moscow, Brazil, UK and Argentina. In his home country, Infusion has received 2 prestigious ARIA awards for their work. More recently Jamie's discography has been highlighted by a contribution (Prism) to John Digweed and Nick Muir's 'Versus’ album along with 'The Wonder of You', released in 2013 on microCastle, which turned out to be one of his career best pieces of work. It earned a #1 chart placing in both Tech House and Electronica on Beatport and was widely regarded as one of the year's best releases. Always a magical remixer Jamie has reinvented the sparkling, melodic 'Some Break' into a stomping techno beast of a record. Already played by Jeremy Olander & Guy J at the VH1 Supersonic festival it looks to be one of Jamie's biggest techno productions of the year.

There’s a wonderful lightness of being to John Barera & Will Martin's productions. Barera's solo contribution to our then-nascent  Upfront series  was a delightful tour through their native Boston, but it's when the pair get together that the magic truly occurs. It’s music tailor-made for planting a smile firmly on two hundred faces as things lift off at 1am, and we're delighted to present the next instalment in their faultless catalogue to the world. 

On releases prior they've plumped for more driving kicks, more arresting vocals, more forthright piano stabs – compared to the likes of "Say It Now" or "It's Alright", "1,2,3 (Feels Right)" is a touch more subdued. It's all relative though, as the track is no less emphatic and certainly no less effective; there's a twinkling lead subtly spiralling throughout, reminiscent of "Ragysh"'s eternal wind-down. The entire EP is killer, and due out on Argot no less – a label that, much like JB&WM, is quietly but diligently establishing a 'buy-on-sight' reputation. Cop it in a few weeks.
