Brief Story of my musical life!
Hi, dear music lovers, 
*My name is Johan F. Langhendries and at the age of two, I became interested in music. Believe it or not, I was a very quiet child and I often listened to music on my father's radio. Jazz, Rock, Classic, just everything! A little later, at age 4 and 5, my grandmother learned me what a C-chord was on her piano, in the different octaves. Later on, she learned me also the other chord. At the age of six, I started making my own drums with wash-powder boxes and I used wooden kitchen spoons to make the sound of a “drum”. When I was 8, several albums like for example; “Let it be” by The Beatles, Block Buster by The Sweet, Black & Blue by The Rolling Stones, etc... were a part of my drum exercise experiences as a young kid. 

° At the age 10, I learned to play on a real drum-kit and trumpet and was also following music theory in two different music schools, for six years, to fill up my evenings on Tuesdays and Thursdays. On Saturday morning and Wednesday afternoon, I had to go to our music theory class and we learned how to write music, etc… At the age of 12, I had my first second-hand drum-kit and at sixteen i started playing in a Punk-Rockband. Lots of fun indeed! At age 18 I  went to study at private school ‘Haleweyn ‘Jazz-Studio’ in Antwerp and learned a lot more about Jazz music and how to play it... I Love to play Jazz, but Funk and Rock became the biggest part of my drumming experience.

– EXPERIENCE; I’ve played as a professional drummer in many bands (Belgium) like ‘Citizen Jane’ (Jazz/Pop) for 5 years with one CD recording and many concerts. I’ve been a studio recording drummer and have worked 40 years as a drummer;  Live concerts, Recording drummer and albums with different rock bands, etc. I still do and learn of course!

– MY PROJECTS SINCE 2004 are; Wannislas(aka) and Abstinent Dazzle (Band). With these two projects, I make some Funky, Dance, Reggae, Rock & Jazz (Fusion) music.    In my third project; Johan Franz Lang (feat. Space Orchestra) I make a kind of contemporary chill-out, easy listening music. 

- I followed a sound engineering class for 2 years (age 29) and do the mastering for my albums and sometimes for other artists - 

° Now, I hope you will enjoy my music and I like to get comments and positive critics if there are some, and of course I appreciate too see some sharing of my music on social media!

Auteur-compositeur de chansons françaises qui n'attendent que de bons interprètes. 
Après des études au conservatoire et musicologie à la Sorbonne, j'ai enseigné l'éducation musicale à des élèves en école élémentaire de 1982 à 2021.

Dès 1989, alors que je découvrais la MAO, j'ai commencé à faire des centaines d'arrangements de chansons pour enfants ou adultes dans tous les styles pour les faire chanter. Cette solide expérience m'a amené dans un premier temps à composer des chansons pour mes élèves. Puis, je me suis lancé dans un répertoire pour adultes. 132 chansons à ce jour !

Mon répertoire va de la danse traditionnelle française (La bourrée du maumarié), à l’EDM (La tête dans les étoiles) en passant par la musique classique (Double concerto pour violon, violoncelle et orchestre à cordes) et la chanson française, le gros du panier, avec le plus souvent cette pointe d’humour qui fait tant défaut aujourd’hui dans beaucoup de chansons, (ce qui est étonnant quand on voit autant d’humoristes fleurir aux six points de l’Hexagone…)

Même si certains apprécient ma façon de chanter, mes chansons sont faites pour de vrais interprètes qui aiment monter sur scène.

Author-composer and performer... by default of French songs. 
After studying at the Conservatoire and musicology at the Sorbonne, I taught music education to elementary school pupils from 1982 to 2021.

As early as 1989, when I was just discovering computer-assisted music, I started making hundreds of arrangements of songs for children and adults in all styles, to get them to sing along. This solid experience initially led me to compose songs for my students. Then I started working on a repertoire for adults. 132 songs to date!

My repertoire ranges from traditional French dance (La bourrée du maumarié), to EDM (La tête dans les étoiles), classical music (Double concerto for violin, cello and string orchestra) and French chanson, the mainstay of my repertoire, most often with that touch of humor so lacking in so many songs these days (which is astonishing when you see so many humorists flourishing at the six points of the Hexagon...).

Even if some people like the way I sing, my songs are made for real performers who like to get up on stage.
