Another rarity is a wail on my old Pierret tenor sax which I've had since 1972 and still blows nice.

The cover photo is a game-play screenshot of a retro-style computer game I was programming and designing by myself a few years ago. Perhaps one day I'll finish that project... OR it will sit on my hard drive never to see the light of day again... I'm just bad at finishing things y'all. Anyway, this new track reminds me of the music on that game and borrows some of the sound samples. Hope you dig it!

Ryan (Dough Factory - https://soundcloud.com/dough-factory) and I crossed paths early on in my SC explorations, and we’ve been fast friends ever since. We’ve also had the privilege of crafting 3 collabs now (including today’s offering); and I must say, this latest is a perfect storm of awesomeness. 

The title refers to the world of Alice in Wonderland; but with an edgy, cyberpunk twist… and a wiser, more jaded Alice returning as our anti-hero. That’s about as much detail as I want to offer… because frankly, no description will do this one justice. But let’s just say you folks are in for a titanium-plated, future-dystopian, razor-sharp joyride of an adventure. 

It's always a blast, crafting tunes with Ryan; and this one truly shines. We hope you enjoy our latest collaborative effort, ‘Alice Threw A Looking Glass, Darkly’. :)

This is an older track that I forgot but while doing some kind of spring cleaning….so to speak in my external hard drives, came across this one. I asked Arkestar if he would consider adding his awesome vocals to it and he said yes. Very happy about that as I really love his voice and his work.
Anyway, this is about moving on in life, letting the past, your old life behind, moving towards something new, something better. I thought this was the perfect time to post this track, as in today’s uncertainty, not really knowing what’s going on, I’d rather choose optimism as anything is possible. When I was in college I got a job as a projectionist at a local movie theater. The films came in on reels and I had to take all those reels and splice them onto a huge spool, then feed them into the projectors. I remember that on Wednesday nights I had to de-splice the movies that were showing and put them back into the reels and send them along to the next theater...It usually took until about 2 or 3 in the morning. I totally remember showing 'The Shining' for a couple weeks and thinking I was seeing things in the dark on those Wednesday nights...alone...in that fucking place.

This is my fourth time crafting sonic magic with our wonderful friend (and exceptional singer and musician) from Derry City, Ireland… Johanna Fegan (soundcloud.com/johanna-fegan, https://jojostar.bandcamp.com, facebook.com/feganjohanna/). And in my humble opinion… it’s our best yet. Haha.

If you haven’t already crossed paths with Johanna, then you missed out on a few of my favorite ‘memorable moments’ from our surreal year in Pandemic Lock-Down. Johanna was kind enough to perform three ‘live from the living room’ streaming concerts (‘Rockin the Lockdown’, if I recall correctly) right as the pandemic hit alarming levels. Truthfully, they helped keep me sane. I needed that to remind me we are not so isolated during trying times. Quite the opposite, in fact. We are all one big planet of friends doing our best to support each other, and offer a bit of positive perspective when we see that others need it most. Johanna (as well as a wonderful number of other creative folks out there) chose to use her efforts to keep the energy climbing ever upward. And sometimes that’s just the message we need… to remember it’s all still good at the core. So thank you for that, Johanna. You are a positive influence, my friend. :)

Back to the song… We had a great time passing the stems back and forth; usually just adding only a handful of new features on each pass. What resulted is this massive joyride of sonic quirkiness that we both utterly adore. I do believe we’ve discovered our perfect stride. 

So without further delay, Johanna Fegan and I joyfully offer you our latest collaborative effort, ‘Beautiful.’ :D
