"Yesina" was sparked from an Instagram post the day of a studio session, my reaction was an outburst of YESINA...... It wasn't a part of the days plan. I finished recording the song "Show You" and I had some extra time in the studio at the lab... So DMac and I cooked up Yesina.. it was a few days before a trip I had planned to Mexico and so I called Mexico and got a videographer to shoot a music video set in Tulum.. Felt like the best place to film it. The EP that releases in May will have the songs . Yesina, Show you, in the morning, your loving.  Although Yesina was a random afterthought it fit in just right and I am excited to present to you this EP and the music videos. If you pay close attention have a story line themselves. Ce titre, avec ‘J’VEUX SURTOUT PAS’  et ‘INFIDÈLE’  fait partie de la trilogie ‘des amours tumultueux’ du micro-album PHONOGRAPHE de MCDC. Un des amoureux, à répétition,  s’est mal occupé de l’autre et  se retrouve,  depuis un an, séparé et seul à pleurer sur son sort dans le Pub des regrets,  où, en  couple, ils aimaient bien aller siroter un verre.

This title, with 'JE VEUX SURTOUT PAS' and 'INFIDÈLE', is part of the 'tumultuous love' trilogy from the EP PHONOGRAPHE by MCDC. One of the lovers, repeatedly, took poor care of the other and has been left alone, separated for a year, to cry over his fate in the Pub of Regrets, where, as a couple, they liked to go and sip a drink.

Telepathy

“Askya” is the opening track from 8 by Laxá & Heima Kvartett — a post-rock collective blending Icelandic string quartet textures with guitar, bass, drums, and organ.

Inspired by the volcanic landscape of Askja in Iceland’s highlands, this piece is dedicated to guitarist Jussi Siglarson. The composition unfolds in three movements:

I. Pizzicato strings and guitar introduce the volcanic landscape.

II. Contemplative layers of bass and strings lead into Jussi’s gentle guitar theme.

III. A reggae-inspired bassline and plucked strings drive urgency before the quartet returns, lifting the track to a cinematic close.

For fans of Sigur Rós, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Mogwai, Balmorhea, Explosions in the Sky, Max Richter, Ólafur Arnalds.

Steve Hillier is a keyboard player and vocalist from the U.S. After 30 years as a sideman behind soul and blues recording artists Bobby Stringer and Betty Padgett, he started recording his own music. 

Steve started playing piano and composing music as a teenager growing up in Darien, Connecticut. His music crosses genres, from the progressive rock of his first EP "Moving Star" to the blues-rock of his follow-up EP "Wintertime".  

His lyrics talk of love, compassion, inclusiveness, and spirituality.
