I don't know what this was like to start with, yet do know a longer work before rest brought out a greater, deeper beauty,  wonderful piece.

It is always good to remember to step off of the merry-go-round of life every once in a while and reflect on the blessings that life, family, friends and really LIVING are.

Reflections

This piece is about all the bads things happening in the world these times. Sadness, anger and helplessness are in my heart when I see all this madness. Whether it is terrorist attacks, tension between the leaders of the great nations or war in general, we are caught between that and we can only hope that it does not touch us or our love ones...Even so, all these broken lives by some people...blinded by hatred... But I keep hope that someday, we break this cycle of violence and stop hurting each others...

When I was about 12, my dad bought us a Wurlitzer organ that I was immediately drawn to.  I took lessons for a couple of years, and then started playing (for pay!!) at a local church near Eureka, CA.  Then we moved back to Sacramento and I played at a couple of churches there (still getting paid, wow).  Anyway, when I moved to college in Moses Lake, WA, where I still live, there was no organ around but there was a piano.  From that day forth I became a lover of the piano.  I've played on church worship teams for over 30 years, as well as several rock bands, but my real passion is writing music.  I find it fascinating that from 12 different tones, an unlimited amount of music can be written - kind of like snowflakes, or God, even.  Over the last few years I've been influenced greatly by Yanni, as well as Brian Crain, Giovanni, and others.  I write instrumental music, featuring the piano and often supported with strings, etc - plus I get out my bass guitar on some songs.  I hope my music will bring healing and rest to you.  My first album is called "A Time of Refreshing", the second one is "A Time of Hope", the third "A Time of Healing" and the fourth "A Time of Reflection".  They are all available on Amazon, iTunes, CDbaby, etc.  The CD versions have all the final revisions and are also in WAV files which is supposed to be better quality than the MP3.  My current project will be called "A Time of Joy" (seeing a pattern here?).
My lovely wife and I have nine kids (yes, all ours), several of whom have followed me musically and I'm sure will surpass me at some point.  (They just told me they have ALREADY surpassed me......oh well).  We love each other, we love God, and we love music.  I'm thankful for SoundCloud as well.  Have a great day!
