Recorded at the start of lockdown on an iPad before I discovered Ableton; cleaned up in 2023 for a new airing. Always saw it as a sonic future-scape that is a little rough around the edges but worth sharing again.

I was recently watching a "Making the Album" episode for Cream's Disraeli Gears.  I thought I had seen them all but this one had slipped by me.

As they were going track by track, they spoke of the song We're Going Wrong, which I had never heard before having been raised on the best of.  I decided to take a crack at it and see what happened.  Quite an amazing experience for me having loved both the band and more specifically Jack Bruce for decades.  Enough so that I play an SG bass in Bruce's, Trevor Bolder's, Phil Lesh's, and Dr. Marshall's honor.

I used this performance from the 2005 reunion concerts as the template.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tsMLWPD2No0 Bruce said that the song was based on an argument he had with his wife at the time.  Seems to me that the relevance of the words and the vibe have bigger meaning in this time as we move forward.

Challenge was to make one of my shorter songs with one of my longer lyrics, so I 'had' to craft it into an amalgam of 9/4 and 4/4 signatures. Thus, it may feel crazy on verses but I hope also catchy on refrains.

Letra / Translated lyrics:

Sólo pido no tener deseos (Ya no quiero imaginar)  /  I ask only not to have desires (I don’t want to imagine anymore)

¿Puedes explicarme qué es lo que me pasa?  /  Can you tell me what happens to me?
Señor, llévate de mí esta confusión.  /  Lord, take away this confusion.
Quítame el don de la inteligencia,  /  Take the gift of intelligence from me,
pues si no pensara tanto, sería feliz.  /  because if I didn’t think so much, I would be happy.
