Steve I did not know the original but I loved the chord choices and timing. Nice performance on this one as the melody jumps around a bit ....a real challenge I bet.

I want to hear vocals from now on!  I had forgotten that you are a good singer!  Really great song.  Very sophisticated melody, cool ambiance that you captured with that Eastman and your recording chain.  Kind of a jazzy troubadour effect that was perfect for this song.  Really enjoyed it, you sure make it sound it easy!

The first of a series of "variations" in which I get a melody from people important to me, and write a piece using that melody. The idea is inspired by Edward Elgars "Enigma Variations", hence the name "Variation I".
