The 21st podcast carries on with our MoxxoM special and presents a more than exclusive mix from Kosme (Lyon, France). Usually, Kosme doesn’t do podcasts, but for the MoxxoM Open Air we were able to persuade him to make an exception.

It is with exceptional energy and unique character that Kosme shares his vision of house and techno with an attentive public. His sets are full of passion and a contagious groove, with his Detroit and Chicago influences being refined to modern tastes.

2013 has seen him express himself across Europe, from the underground clubs in Berlin to some of the most prestigious festivals. He stays deeply attached to his home town, where he has launched the successful Cosmic Adventure club night at Le Sucre, where he holds the rank of Resident Dj with the likes of Laurent Garnier or Agoria. This monthly residence is a story of his image, which sees him invite the artists whom he admires to please a public with an acquired taste for his cause. With the likes of Theo Parish, Prosumer, Move D and Basic Soul Unit being amongst a long list of invitees, the occasion is lives up to its name. 

Surrounded by artists with whom he shares the same values, he released a superb remix of Agoria’s “For One Hour”, whereas April Moon, his hit on New York’s Thema Records kept on opening new doors. 2014 is also the start of a new journey with Cosmic Ad Records coming to life, a new label aiming to be an open minded logbook of his ever expending universe with 1st Things 1st, the debut EP, to be released in May.

When music producers Niconé and Sascha Braemer get together in the studio you can never tell when another idea will come round the corner. But what we can tell is that their newest production comes from the heart. It’s titled “Myheart” and makes for Berlin record label Dantze’s 48th release (once founded by Niconé and Philip Bader). The EP includes the original track of the same name and a remix by Alexander Gerlach. It may be purchased via <a href="http://www.beatport.com/release/myheart-feat-kimtoo/1314249">Beatport</a> since June 16th, 2014.

A few years ago I did a remix of a track by Dominik Eulberg called Sansula, which featured an instrument of the same name. After the release a builder of sansula instruments in the Netherlands was kind enough to give me one as a present in case I wanted to use one again in a live recording, which I have finally got around to doing now with this track!

My process consisted of me sitting in my studio (badly) playing the thumb plucked sansula for quite a while, so that I could go back to the recording and pull out some useable loops as a starting point. I wanted a nice warm analogue chord progression to complement, but more in the high bass and low mids than my usual chord progression that's down really low, to fill the mix with the warmth as much as possible.

The track still needed something though, so I turned to some spare recordings of my favourite vocalist - Kathrin deBoer, from some of our previous recording sessions. I didn't want to go for the usual full lyrical approach of a vocal collab track, I just wanted to add some small snippets of human feeling to round off the track properly.

The release is coming out on Fields on the 1st of December along with an intense synth experiment with a Prophet 08, and beautiful remixes from David August and Throwing Snow.

His performances are always exciting journeys that carry energy but never lose that delicate balance of harmony from track to track. Stephan Bodzin is back with his first LP since 2007. The 'Powers of Ten' will be released in June on his own Herzblut imprint and it contains a deeply personal sound. The artist says the LP is "an homage to Bob Moog, full Techno beats and sounds and space and party and ecstasy and dancing and listening and crying and feeling". After the first track of the album, 'Singularity' already made it into our Top 10 Releases In May, we are now lucky enough to premier 'Zulu' for you. Reprising his long and fruitful association with Poker Flat, Martin Landsky - elder statesmen and bona fide legend of Berlin's club scene - serves up another superb EP that is more than ample testimony to de- cades of experience in production and be- hind the decks at virtually every noteworthy club or festival you might care to name.

Right from the off, 'Da Geh Bo' hits the sweet spot with its booming bass, precisi- on percussion and spacious production va- lues. This is big, bold, upfront tech house garnished with imagination - not least the cut-up vocalizations that zip and echo in the mix.

'Under The Bridge' is equally ballsy, its re- petitive stabs demonstrating Landsky's in- nate understanding for what moves people in both body and mind. Synth drones sweep above you like searchlights over Gotham, soaring up towards a textbook climax.

Rounding things off, the House Mix of the title track marries a hard-hitting kick to a nebula of reverberating synth: a foundation for a swinging, swaying and utterly super- smooth groove.

Martin Landsky - Under The Bridge

We first introduced these strapping young house aficionados from Sligo, Ireland, with their debut EP as a pair, “Street Urchin”, a little over a year ago. Since then the guys have been busy with a massive release on Detroit Swindle’s label Heist, not to mention their unbridled musical passion lead them to launch their own label Splendor & Squalor beginning of this year, kicking things off with a sell out vinyl only pressing of another four track EP of their own imaginings featuring a hot remix from Session Victim. 

We’re pleased to share with you their latest creation, the stunning “Lamaj’s Secret EP”. Now, we’re not sure who Lamaj is exactly, but the mystery, funk and raw sex appeal in these four jams certainly has us wondering. 

First up we meet “Lamaj”, this track drips with delicate melodic samples, jazz tainted drums and bass driven funk galore. We asked our long time friend, Australian Andy Hart, to give it a flip for us on A2. He opened things up, deepened the vibe and brought some bass toms to deliver a final punch. The B-side begins with “Four Lights”, here the guys slow things down a little and remind us of their gift for nostalgia touched soul and groove samples. Finally, “Garlic Fist Pump”, as the name suggests, takes us straight back out to the dance floor, between the dynamic live drums, subtle vocal snips cry to the hip hop Brame & Hamo draw so much inspiration from. Welcome to the House of Lamaj, we hope you’ll take off your coat and stay a while.

Apparition is my 2nd single of 2015. In words of Noir: "This record is special. Its even hard to fit into a specific category. Apparition perfectly shows Coyu's diversity and unique taste in music and production skills. While the Dub Mix has an early deep techno vibe to it the original mix carries subbtle and catchy vocals by Marissa Guzman that will make it appeal to electronica, deep and tech house lovers as well. On this production Coyu is inspired by his early club visits in Barcelona and it works perfectly as a throwback and tribute to the history of house/techno. We had an instant crush on this record at Noir Music and feel proud to release music as unique as this one."

Poesie Musik has the very special honor to announce the release of a remix of a song known the world over, authored by no less than Sade. One of the prolific singer's most well-known creations, ‚Pearls‘ is given a deluxe makeover by German dance floor mainstay Timo Jahns, whose moody, melancholy personal sound fits perfectly with the sultry vocals on one of the crooner's most moving songs. 

Hailing from Göttingen, Timo Jahns has carved out a name for himself on the German party circuit thanks in part to an endless list of edited music and remixes on labels like Ponsactrilau, Underyourskin Records, Neverending, Cometomusic, Klang Gymnastik and 9Volt, as well as his own imprint FREUNDCHEN RECORDS, created for an intimate circle of few. 

This latest foray into the reworking of certain melodic masterpieces comes after Timo’s remixes of music by the likes of songstress Melody Gardot and Bon Iver just last year. For this special rendition of ‚Pearls‘, the producer has carefully lead the tune into deep-house terrains and turned it into a track just begging for summer afternoons and thoughtful chill-out sessions.
