René Martens announces his debut EP on the Songbird imprint, featuring the titles "Point Of No Return" and "Frantic".

René Martens is a well known name for many of us and of course a lot of us know René from his collaborations with Bart Claessen. In this EP, we get to enjoy the production skills of René himself. The first track of the EP, "Point Of No Return" shows us that René Martens knows very well how to tell a story through his music. René takes his proper time to build the song up and work his way towards the break. The superb arrangement that he has in store for us comes to full bloom in the break. An incredibly touching theme sets in and we're submerged in big synths and far away sounding strings. Then, almost out of the blue, there is that wailing melody line that will give everyone on the dancefloor goose bumps. Hands in the air, the crowd is cheering, the light jockey flashes every laser he has and the DJ takes control. A killer single for trance DJs all over the world.

For the second track, "Frantic", René focuses on his tech trance skills and delivers a huge banger for the big rooms and trance arenas. Hard drum programming sets the standard for the rest of the track and in the deceivingly smooth break René slowly works his way to the climax of "Frantic" and hammers everyone with huge synth stabs. The driving sub bass does the rest. Tailor made for the big in- and outdoors, René Martens' kick ass tracks are now ready to take over every DJ's tracklist!

During the highly successful official release party of "In Search Of Sunrise 9 - India" at Oceandiva, Amsterdam, Richard Durand played a memorable live set that enticingly unveiled some of the tracks as they appear on his new mix compilation, simply referred to as ISOS 9.
The upcoming release of ISOS 9 wouldn't be complete without first taking note of all the titles featured and therefore Richard Durand finally reveals the highly anticipated tracklist to the world.

For the true collectors of the series it's common knowledge that the custom for name-checking cities, islands, countries and continents in compilation titles has long been a dance artist's way in highlighting the places that they've felt the strongest newfound pressure. India's club fraternity may rightfully have been wondering when their first nod would come. Volume 7 of "In Search Of Sunrise" already went wide angle on the Asian continent at large. And now it's the series' new crusader Richard Durand that's zoomed the lens in to that motherland of the mystic, India!

Richard silenced the shouldn't/couldn't/wouldn't brigade with the critical and commercial success of his IDMA nominated In Search Of Sunrise 8: South Africa album last year. Durand then took his ISOS sound and vision on tour and completed the expedition with a freshly minted radio show. Having generated his own brand of the titular heat at the country's Sunburn festival late last year, he knew where his second sun would rise. 

Kicking off appropriately enough with the latest from India's Lost Stories, CD01 builds its way through new Pulser, Alex O'Rion and Zoo Brazil material, culminating in Richard's latest track off the desk, "Run To You". CD02 meanwhile ushers in audio from Jonas Steur, Craving, Andy Duguid and Sunny Lax among others and also fields Daniel Wanrooy's purpose-built and exceptionally fine "Bangalore". As always and of course again with ISOS 9, all the titles included are exclusive to the compilation.

Moonpax knows it too and with “Ice Coffee” he delivers a true staple for every DJ that works with ISOS style trance. Ice coffee, the drink, is something you’d have on a hot day during your summer vacation and that’s exactly what we hear seeping through in this new single. A complex build up of well arranged synths and strings, including a driving bassline and an overall, spaceous soundstage that remains climatic until the very last second of the track. Not to mention the fab break of course. 

Noel Gitman and Dave G took care of the remix and added more trance, all the while remaining faithful to the original version. It’s just that their rendition is rougher; at times even techy. Moonpax’s “Ice Coffee” is an absolute stunner for today’s dance floors!

Preceded by his single "Winter" and "Darling", a collaboration with Brianna Holan, Steve Kaetzel now returns with his solo project, the "I Need You EP".

Steve Kaetzel's name as a composer and sound designer for video games and short films was already firmly established when he had his first encounter with electronic dance music. In Seattle he pursued his new-found love, after which Black Hole Recordings signed Steve to the Songbird imprint, where he released an EP with the titles "Black Opal" and "Something About This". His second EP, a collaboration with vocalist Brianna Holan entitled "So Alone," received airplay on Markus Schulz's Coldharbour Day, Roger Shah's Magic Island, and Anjunabeats Worldwide. Tiësto and Sander van Doorn soon supported his remixes for such artists as Moonbeam and Zoo Brazil and Steve's subsequent releases "Floe" and "Aurora", saw a brand new 2013 follow up with the single "Winter". Steve recently collaborated with vocalist Brianna Holan on "Darling".

For this new EP, Steve produced the tracks "I Need You" and "Coast Of Alaska"; two diamonds that move from the melodic, story telling trance plains to the deeper symphonic breaks. "Coast Of Alaska" is strongly reminiscent of the ISOS spirit, while "I Need You" explores Steve's arranging skills with a moving classical break that could have been composed by the great Tomaso Albinoni himself.
