I’d seen you play once
At a bar in Santa Cruz
So when I saw you coming my way
I hoped for a glimpse from you

You stopped for a moment
You placed your hands on mine
You said I must be crazy
And kept walking to the monorail line

It's usually pain or sorrow
The scar that cuts so deep
But the touch of your hands on mine
Is one of my strongest memories

We did an interview
On a Nashville radio show
And I told you about that time
From many years ago

Of course you didn't recall
But maybe now you do
