4 Star Commended Entry in the 2022 UK Songwriting Contest

Bonfire Night or Guy Fawkes' Night takes place on November 5th each year in Great Britain with bonfires and firework displays. It recalls the Gunpowder Plot of 1605; an attempt to blow up the Houses of Parliament. Guy Fawkes was captured before he could light the fuse to 36 barrels of gunpowder. Back in the day, children would make a scarecrow-like effigy of Guy Fawkes to be thrown on the communal bonfire during the 'celebrations'. In the run up to the evening they would ask for "a penny for the guy" to spend on sparklers, sweets or other treats.

With Mr Guy Fawkes evil intentions, he certainly got all of our attention,

A song I wrote two years ago or more about my wife and her mother. Reflecting on the loss of a mother and how it affects the daughter so much and continues to hurt everyday five years later.
I gave Noobly the original demo and said imagine this.
We are on stage at the Albert Hall. You with an acoustic guitar and me on vocals with a full orchestra behind us. He said no pressure then and laughed.
It’s the only way I could express how big this sound needed to be.
Noobly loves a challenge and always delivers. I was blown away at what he had created it’s a home  studio masterclass of orchestration and production.
He also pulled out the original vocal part from the middle 8 and re-used it again as he thought it was more authentic than the new vocal.
A nice touch for me and nostalgic.
The anniversary draws near so now is a good time for the song to be released as a tribute.

December 2018 WHERE CIGARETTES FALL forwarded by Taxi.com to US TV music director. Latest 3 albums seek to marry singer songwriter Imagery with multi-harmony musical movement. 2024 FLOATING INTO WONDER and ECCENTRICITY SO BEAUTIFUL got airplay on a New Foundland radio station. Dec 24 FAKING IRONY and CAUGHT UP IN A WAR have have gotten a foothold in Spotify.
