Days are disappearing and nights are taking over. We witness a burst of colour just before it clears space for the bright white blanket. And this new season brings another Amselcom release.

Sweden’s Victor Norman is guided by the signs of the time in his extraordinary track “Hymn”. He gently unites depth and gloom with fragile melancholy to form a moving and sensual track.

Bernstein and Birds of Mind attend to the original, each concentrating on a different characteristic. While the former adds drive to underline the verve of the tune, the French duo intensifies the melodic and frisky side of the track.

To round off the release, Victor teams up with slowmo specialist Harro Triptrap in a hot turn. “Mimikry” first appears to be a peaceful creature, but its rogue character eventually shows itself.

Winter treats us to storms and nights of fire. And these feelings are captured by the photographer Xiao Yang, adding the perfect optical surrounding to the release.

Over the years, Berlin has been cited as Oliver Koletzki’s main point of reference and, more importantly, his endless source of inspiration. His albums Großstadtmärchen and Großstadtmärchen 2 are wholehearted tributes of the German capital, as its importance is continuously hinted and charted.  Friedrichshain, one of Berlin’s vibrant districts, has always held a special place in Oliver’s heart. This is where he started out when he first moved to the city, and this is where he lives now. Kreuzberg’s wall paintings adorn Stil Vor Talent ’s cover sleeves and host their headquarters. There are little to no corners in the city that haven’t brought a spark of inspiration into the mix. The Schneeweiss compilation series, now at its seventh installment, is built as a form of tribute to all these particles, tied in together into a series of carefully curated tracks. Each compilation stands at the intersection of the musical and cultural surroundings most prominent of their respective times, acting both as a reminder as well as a timeless sound capsule for the years to come.

Alberto Iovine and Alessandro Fumagalli aka Modular Project announce the launch of their new label, in partnership with Rebirth Records.
 
Born and raised between Como and Milan, Alberto and Alessandro quickly shared their love for electronic music and the great passion for vintage synths and drum machines. They started to produce together in 2012 and released on labels like OFF, Moodmusic and Perpetualis Music before joining Rebirth in 2017 with their remix of the Blond:ish classic ‘Wizard Of Love’.

The 002 is Modular Project’s first production on the label. ‘Andromeda’ is an hypnotic journey through shades of indie electronica, new wave and their signature sounds. The package comes with two strong remixes from Nhar and Tom Peters.

(Story continued from Witchtape #33)
After slowly waking up from a blissful sleep (which seemed to have lasted an eternity), the little witch was led to a pond by the two elder witches.  The girl was really excited when she saw that peaceful body of water, which was something she didn’t have in her own forest (it only featured a muddy swamp and a little stream but not such a cool little lake).  The witches walked cautiously side by side into the clear water.  The young novice felt the water rising up her legs, while the witches waded further and further away from the shore, until the water was at waist-height.  The water was pretty chilly but definitely not unpleasant, yet the cold sent a few shivers through her body.  The 3 women waded deeper and deeper until only their heads were above the surface.  The little witch had never swum in her whole life, yet she wasn’t the least bit afraid.  The eldest witch smiled at the young novice and took a dive into the lake, followed by the other senior witch.  The little witch hesitated for one moment, then she took a deep breath and dived into the water too.  She had never swum before, but witches know how to swim by instinct.  She soon became enchanted by the sheer beauty of the underwater world and got totally immersed into this aquamarine universe, simply enjoying the soothing feeling of water flowing over her skin, while her long brown hair got gently swept around into all kinds of directions.  After a while, she realized that she didn’t feel the urge to breathe (witches are known to be capable to stay underwater for over half an hour).  Soon the girl got accompanied by a few little fishes and also some small freshwater crabs and enjoyed their company so much, that she lost sight of the other 2 witches.  She was all alone in the water now, yet she wasn’t worried at all, just enjoying this mesmerizing submerged world full of beautiful plants and little creatures.  The little witch even became so much at ease that she relaxed every muscle of her body and it felt as if she was weightless while her body was being tossed around in slow motion by the shifting currents.  She felt a deep connection with the lake and with all the living beings around her, and in such a state of relaxation that she hardly noticed that the currents slowly dragged her deeper and deeper into the blue water, while there was still no trace of her two sisters witch.  It slowly dawned to the girl that this lake was much bigger and deeper than it had seemed when she was still looking at it from the shore…

Der Pilzgeist

Jeden Abend mache ich einen Spaziergang im nahe gelegenen Wald. Ich mag die kühle Nachtluft, die sanften Geräusche eines schlafenden Waldes und die friedvolle Atmosphäre. 
Doch heute verlief meine abendliche Runde anders als gewöhnlich. Der Wald war stiller als sonst, weder Tierlaute noch das Pfeifen des Windes waren zu hören.
Ungefähr auf der Hälfte meiner Strecke entdeckte ich ihn, einen wunderschönen Fliegenpilz. 
Sein Fruchtkörper war ausladend und die weißen Punkte auf seinem roten Hut verliehen ihm etwas majestätisches. Einem Impuls heraus folgend legte ich mich zu ihm, nahm die Froschperspektive ein und sah die Welt aus seinen Augen. Die Sterne glitzerten wie kleine Diamanten, so wie die weißen Punkte auf seinem roten Haupt. Unter mir pulsierte der Waldboden, lebendig, als würde man über ein Schiff bei Wellengang laufen. Irgendwann fielen mir die Augen zu und ich begann zu träumen. Ich flog über Berge und Täler, besuchte ferne Galaxien und sprach mit alten Göttern über den Sinn des Lebens.
Als ich wieder erwachte war der Pilz verschwunden und ich lag ein wenig frierend auf dem nackten Erdboden.

French house DJ-producer Kulkid and rising vocalist Kaleena Zanders have teamed up for a compelling collaboration titled 'Skyline'. Produced during a road trip through US national parks, the track conveys the excitement of travel and the raw beauty of nature. Kaleena Zanders brings the cherry on the cake with her warm and soulful voice, delivering a powerful and sentimental dimension to the song.

Kaleena Zanders had this to say on the new track: "While staying completely original, Kulkid's production in "Skyline" embodies the energy and feel of artist such as Lane 8, The Magician, Amtrac & Kidnap.  Coming from a background in vocal soul house, I felt it would be unique to show more emotion in my writing and vocal performance on a beautiful track like this."

Kaleena Zanders recently joined Mixmag, AKG and a team of exceptional artists for a wholly unique electronic music retreat in Woodstock, New York. With an emphasis on seclusion and artistic solidarity, Zanders reflected on her love of improvisation and joined some talented producers in the studio to provide powerful vocals over their tunes.

An den Decks waren dort Roswitha & Paboona aus Amsterdam.

Roswitha & Paboona reisten den ganzen Weg von Amsterdam nach Kiel, um ihre Lieblingsgeschmacksrichtungen beim Techno Brunch im Orange Club zu servieren. Es freut uns sehr, dass sie sich entschieden haben, dass Set auf House Buffet vorzustellen.

Als Vorspeise bringen sie frisch abgemixten Deephouse auf die Turntables, um den Einstieg  in die Vorweihnachtszeit zu erleichtern.  Alle Aromen und Sensationen sind mit Drums, tiefen Bässen und exquisiten Melodien ausgestattet, die nach mehr verlangen lassen ...

Roswitha & Paboona traveled all the way from Amsterdam to Kiel to serve some of their favorite flavors at ‘Techno Brunch’ in the Orange Club. Of course they couldn’t think of a better platform other then House Buffet to release their set for dessert.

As an appetizer, they bring freshly picked deephouse to the turntables to get you started. Once the dancefloor is heated up, the spicy synths come smooth and fluently al dente as the main. All flavors and sensations are garnished with sultry drums, deep bass and exquisite melodies that leaves you craving for more ...

Costantino and Casper aka Meastral, first met at school in the south of France, aged just 11 years old and began producing together at 14. A little older but still young, the very talented producers had their first release with us in April this year. "Solitudine" is an opening bomb for peaktime sets with a catchy, deep and powerful melody. "Miljo", the second track they released on our imprint two month ago was a good follow up track and they demonstrate their skills. We  invited Meastral to make a mixtape for our series. It is a very melodic and deep mix with pregnant basslines, they also showed in their tracks. So we are very happy to have them with us, thanks to Meastral. It's deep, emotional and reflective (as most of my music is) but turns into a happy, bouncy, futuristic house style track towards the end.
