NODE is a platform that started in 2017 as a cycle of musical proposals in Barcelona, with events oriented towards the city's club scene and a sound expressly aimed at techno.  Among the objectives that were set from the beginning, it is worth highlighting the good atmosphere and the synchrony between the dancefloor and the stage, and always maintaining the habit of having national and international artists such as Anthony Linell, Shifted, Psyk, Svreca, ORBE, Architectural or Luigi Tozzi among many others in the booth.

This philosophy of always having different artists of great level for each event, is also transferred to their recording activity, as there is no release that is composed by a single author, each artist participates with a single track. 

Dario Duegra, who is at the helm of this project, founded NODE Recordings in 2020 as a fraction of the platform, maintaining and transmitting the identity of the musical concept. This September, coinciding with its third anniversary, the label launches Neural Haze, the first reference of this label released on vinyl format.
 
The Italian CONCEPTUAL opens with Selva Oscura, a cut that mixes intensity with the hypnotism caused by the continuous succession of patterns that modulate gradually. And this description can be perfectly applicable to the remaining 5 tracks, as Noir, by Dario Duegra, Dex31, a cut by the Argentinian Farceb, Thorax, by the Spanish producer ORBE, and No Fear, a track by the also Italian Sciahri, follow a similar pattern to the first cut, with linear techno and a lot of pressure. On the other hand, Out of Time, which is the closing track of the album and is signed by the Detroit artist Uun, is a much more mental and less solid techno, however, the psychological factor is basically created with a very detailed and elaborate combination of percussive elements, especially in terms of panning.

Markus Suckut’s twist on German producer Sawlin's Keine Kunst  is a high-energy techno track designed for peak time on the dance floor. The pulsating beats and rhythmic patterns create an infectious groove that is sure to captivate listeners. Characterized by its driving bass-line, crisp hi-hats, the core of the Suckut remix is the undulating percussion and carefully sampled melodies from the original mix. Also sprinkled throughout are vocal snippets adding an extra layer of dynamism and emotion to the track. The sampled vocals are not just a mere accompaniment; they serve as a rhythmic and melodic instrument, contributing to the overall sonic tapestry.

Markus Suckut’s remix and the rest of the Keine Kunst release will be out on Freund Der Familie, the 27th of November.

PREMIERE: Sawlin - Keine Kunst (Markus Suckut Remix) [Freund Der Familie]

Let's rewind back to 1990 and the early beginnings of the techno scene, forthcoming techno legend Damon Wild's descends upon Brooklyn, New York. Upon arrival Damon forges an alliance with Frankie Bones and Adam. He joins the team at Groove and ran the mail order department for their recently opened “Groove Records Shop”.


Quickly moving into music production, Damon presents a slew of releases under different aliases; building his name quickly on the still developing global techno circuit. Simultaneously, he activates the cult classic label “Experimental Records” which goes on to release many rising techno stars over the following years.

In 1994 Damon launches Synewave Records, this time with a focus on a freshly innovative, stripped down jacking-hypnotic techno. The label goes on to play a big and memorable part in techno history, influencing the many generations to come.

Fast forward to the present, Damon goes full circle to his beginnings with Sonic Groove (formerly the Groove Records Shop) and records a thought provocative, cutting edge album for his old friend and label owner Adam X.

With an eye always focused on sound innovation, Damon's latest album “Pleasure Builder” is a masterpiece of sound design, expanding his take on a genre he helped create 30+ years ago, “Hypnotic, Groove Techno.” This album is a must have for techno fans of all generations.

Davide Avaltroni aka Aval started as a producer in 2017 and then moved on to mixing.
In 2019 he founded Kollective Re-Search together with other local artists and began performing live and as a DJ. His musical research focuses mainly on melodic techno. Classics and soundtracks inspire his work.

Today, in addition to producing and performing with his collective, his research also finds expression in other areas, such as Dutch and Berlin techno which brings him closer to vinyl.

This mix, entitled (Architecture from Space), the first of the series, is the result of this alternative research, which consolidates the melodic timbre and introduces bpm and underground sounds with
a perpetual groove, never explored before. An alternative selection of songs, which opens the horizons to new experiments and sound sensations.

Mentioning releases, remixes, or labels on which Steve Rachmad has shown his craftsmanship is pointless and time-consuming. So is boasting about the clubs and festivals on which he has left his mark. It would just make for another list of names, places, and brands…. Let’s not do that. Feel free to visit the usual channels (Discogs, Soundcloud, Beatport) and take your pick from numerous productions and DJ sets. They all come from three decades of dedication, sweat, and polishing a one of a kind talent.

Because as Miles had his horn and Pablo took to canvas, Steve has an unequalled gift for (almost physically) connecting with every thinkable drum machine and synthesizer out there. If the man had kids, boys would listen to Roland or Robert (Moog), and a girl would surely be named Linn, after the machine made famous by Prince and others in the 80’s. Some claim it’s analogue machine telepathy, others say he was born with all the right connectors and inputs hidden somewhere underneath his trademark curly hairdo.

This ability has established Steve as one of those artists that simply last because of quality. New generations of artists from different genres recognizes his signature and therefore play his work.

As a DJ he is constantly reinventing himself. Set firmly in the best that techno and house have to offer at the moment, Rachmad draws inspiration from his love for high quality disco and electro from the past. As words can never truly describe music, we’ll end with advising you to go check him out and hear for yourself what Steve is all about.
