The final installment of Spektre's Recykled series features four reworks that have really taken their original tracks to the next level.

"Incognito" is the first one up and Alex D'Elia & Nihil Young of Frequenza fame add some mighty grooveness while retaining the hypnotic elements that made the original stand out.

Subfractal have taken on the remix of "Flux Aeterna" and have mangled the main melody, effectively taking the whole track up a notch, and lacing it with their signature sound

Kyfu & Rosie Romero' s remix of "Memory Effect" goes straight for the jugular, using fragments of the melody, but still keeping the vibe and keeping the intensity level high.

The final track of the pack is remixed by Reset Robot, and he has transformed "Descent" into a clean chugger with precise percussion in the leading role, and paranoid vocals setting the mood.

Without holding his breath or glancing back, Steyoyoke's newest artist Aaryon steps forward and plunges himself straight into the deep end with his debut EP 'Fairy Tales'. Comprising of two originals, a remix from Ran Salman and two remixes from Animal Picnic, this release is sure to leave its mark.

The title track is a solid first release and a fine introduction of things to come from this artist. Possessing an exotic energy and hypnotic vibe, 'Fairy Tales' is driven by a strong momentum, that dominates and pushes you beneath a surface of beats. Deep bassline kicks and thrumming techno vibes are harmoniously laced with intense melodies that genuinely evoke a sense of fairy tale madness.

Ran Salman is next in line to flavour 'Fairy Tales' with his sound and puts forth an edgier, slightly darker version. The intensity is a little more progressive and a smidge dirtier, but it mirrors that exact same drive and momentum from the original. 

Track number three is the Club Edit from Spanish duo Animal Picnic, who are taking up remix duties with Steyoyoke for the first time. Their interpretation of 'Fairy Tales' seems to have more punch and attitude, which definitely boosts 'Fairy Tales' with an added sense of presence.

Their second remix brings soaring key changes, beautiful transitions and smooth basslines. Layers of deep percussion are infused with broody undertones, creating a beautiful platform of warm rich sounds. 

'Chlorine' is Aaryon's second track on the EP and it bares a harsher, sharper quality, then is heard on any of the other tracks on this release. Laden with sparse synth riffs and a bouncy techno jive, this track is both powerful and commanding. It is also another testament to support Aaryon’s talent and skill.

Steyoyoke is a new Berin-based house label and it’s first release is the three track ‘If I Were Music’ EP by I’m Fine and Antonio Olivieri.

I’m Fine are a production outfit who first met at Berlin’s music engineering school, SAE, and have since gone on to establish a tight working relationship and are currently working on a debut album reflecting their jazz, house and techno influences. Antonio Olivieri is Italian born but now resides in Berlin and has developed a firm reputation via releases for Silicone Soul’s Darkroom Dubs and LustundFreude, amongst others.

‘If I Were Music’ centres around a titular vocal refrain, pitched and moulded to sit flush with a chord driven slice of classic, deep house production that employs subtle modulation and side-chaining to give soft, undulating vibe.

‘Your Ghost’ is next up and is a cut that creeps towards its many peaks beautifully. Walking bassline and seductive vocal hooks combine with nagging, filtered guitar hits that wrap around the sturdy groove tightly.

Finally, ‘Do Not Care’ ends the EP with a slightly rougher edge. A bubbling, erratic analogue FM leads and hefty sub-bass make for a strong counterpoint to organic feel of the track’s captivating, David Byrne-esque vocals and forays into organic instrumentation.

Steyoyoke's second release truly shows the label's love for eloquent and surprising house music. The label's second release by their own Dahu comes in strong with an atmospheric EP called 'Deep in the Woods'; two crisply produced tracks likely to arouse the senses. 
Berlin-based Dahu describes his music as 'atmospheric house with delicate melodies and bass-driven sound,' and with this, his first release on Steyoyoke, he certainly stays true to his word.

'Deep In the Woods' is a haunting trail of eerie synth pads and echoing hi-hats culminating subtly into a drop that combines a drooling bass line with infrequent vocal snippets. 
Craftily blending a shuffling percussion with a resonating lead, Dahu creates a hypnotic journey reminiscent of rustling leaves and a walk through a dark wood at night.

The B-side 'Falun' is more upbeat in nature and takes the atmosphere in a new exciting direction but still retains a smokey feel throughout. Introduced with intangible vocal loops and the occasional horn stab, the song sets the mood for a more summery endeavour. In the breakdown a lazy piano arrangement provides the lethargic atmosphere where an echoey horn emerges from beneath.

An exciting and atmospheric EP from Dahu provides a solid second release for Berlin's newest imprint: Steyoyoke Records.

'Deep in the Woods' EP will see two releases, first on vinyl from 16th March and then digitally to follow.

An air of mystery surrounds the artist responsible for Steyoyoyoke's third release, titled 'Shadows'.

 The anonymous artist, given the name Soul Button, takes the helms for the label's May release, and as signs of summer emerge in Berlin, a three track EP comes to soak up the heat. An energetic and driving release equally fitting in a restless dance-floor or sun drenched terrace.

Soul Button is a new artist from Steyoyoke records, and we are excited to announce the artist's first release on the label. With each track bringing new flavour to the EP, you may find it hard to pick a favourite.

Shimmering piano dubs, a bellowing male vocal and hints of a slide guitar comprise the title track and firmly sets the EP up for an exciting ride. 'Shadows' provides an instrumentally satisfying groove: an ideal tool for those brighter sets.

The cleanly produced track 'Shine' features vocals from singer La Phoenix and follows in flowing deep house fashion acting as a bridge for the EP. 'Shine' is a reclining tale of mellow grooves using subtle but up-lifting vocals to bring the track to life.

The huge third track 'Talking' features Steyoyoye artist Bartok. Led by a forceful and inescapable bass line, 'Talking' is a pumping dance-floor bomb. The occasional guitar glimmer adds an almost exotic element to the proceedings, and echoey synths and stringed chords help to drive it forward.

Three divine tracks comprise the latest offering from Steyoyoke, titled 'Back and Forth'. 
Using numerous alias's with releases on such labels as Crossworld Records and Neurotraxx Deluxe, Sasch has built himself a reputable name as a skilled producer, his first release on Steyoyoke, certainly is a prove. Oozing with bright flavours and sun drenched grooves, 'Back and Forth' is a sharp-edged tool for those summer sets, rich in glowing synth lines and warm atmospheres.

The EP kicks off in high spirits with 'I Just Want'. Horn stabs, a funky bassline and crisp vocals rise through the glowing synth which all culminate in a dance-floor bomb. 
'Come On' combines a delectable guitar lead with laid back melodies and fluttering synth pads. A perfectly refined tune brimming with notions of summer and serenity.

Closing the EP in style is 'Marian', a breezy blend of swirling synths, uplifting vocals and a driving lead all drenched in a heavenly percussion.

The fourth release on Steyoyoke continues the label's run of quality house music brimming with new flavours. 'Back and Forth' provides a dashingly bright endeavour and is a perfect fit for the sommer!

Steyoyoke delivers another charismatic affair for the labels fifth release with Bartok’s three track EP entitled “Deeplodocus”. Brimming with diversity, Bartok’s EP runs the gamut of deep, to funky, to ambient, to big room sounds. His versatile, well rounded production skills are manifested throughout, pushing the envelope with genre bending beats that have been crafted with beautiful restraint, all the while delivering big-room sounds that will keep you dancing into the late summer nights.

Bartok opens his EP with “Cherries”, a deep and groovy track, where the synths are the star. Leaning over the top of a building, wind blowing, eerie sounds, hoarse male vocals are sharply juxtaposed against the mid tempo bass line, snappy percussion, and the cleverly understated synths which shine through the darkness.

Bartok then brings us on an uplifting, ambient journey with “Deeplodocus”, a masterful track of restraint. His adept production skills are genre bending in this expertly crafted, hypnotic, yet sunny track. Nods are given to both progressive and experimental elements. Bartok’s intelligent unassuming bass line, and brilliant transcendental strings both elevate and sooth. “Deeplodocus” speaks volumes without a single vocal.

Bartok closes his EP with “Munch Munch”. He picks up the tempo with late night, peak hour, classic big-room sounds with a twist. The groovy bass line and off beat high hats temper the darkness, while the dark synths, distorted vocals, sirens, and bongos keep your bodies moving in this pleasing late night shaker.

Another solid release for the Steyoyoke imprint and we will be expecting to hear much more from the extremely talented Bartok.

Laura Jones has had a breakthrough 2012. Fulfilling touring dreams and winning the hearts of the global scene with her sensual melodic house and seductive, driving DJ sets, it may come as a surprise that ‘Let Me In’ is Laura’s first, albeit highly anticipated, solo EP. Dropping on Visionquest, ‘Let Me In’ develops Laura’s signature sound, painting a fuller picture of the artist through deeper techno shades, live vocals and trademark hypnotic style.

Title track ‘Let Me In’ could be Laura’s most beautiful and textured yet. A first foray into vocals (a feature bound to build and develop over time) the whispery undulating layers of “Let Me In” weave in and out of shimmering synth waves and ghostly melodic chimes while the ‘Dub Rework’ delves deeper and darker with a tight and punchy groove.

On the flip, ‘Lose Myself’ is another emotive builder, the spacious, raw groove filled with dubby textures and tingly FX giving way to lush pads that float through the echoing vox as drama builds with a melodic bounce to work the floor. Final track ‘Every Thought’ kicks off with reverberating rubbery bass and shakers, while a gothic-esque framework develops with evolving synth lines and filtered bleeps.

A protégé under the Visionquest banner and nurtured under the wings of Leftroom, Laura Jones exploded into the public consciousness in 2011 with her deep and intrinsically melodic vision of house. Her ‘Live A Little’ track was included on the ‘Visionquest Spring Club Collection’ sampler, and her breakthrough single ‘Love In Me’ stormed the Beatport chart and held the no.1 spot for several consecutive weeks – the second time courtesy of stellar remixes from Maceo Plex, Kate Simko and Eats Everything. Later came a joint EP on Crosstown Rebels and an immaculate mix for the Leftroom presents…series. Now with this timeless 4- tracker on the mighty Visionquest, the diminutive producer is destined for an even bigger 2013.
