After setting the tone with two originals and one remix with us back in 2020, Berlin-based producer @fabiankrooss returns this year with his debut solo sortie, 'Planet D'. A nod to the ecological nonsense that envisages salute in departing our beloved 'Planet A' for other celestial bodies to tear down - such as a fictional 'Planet D', the EP runs the gamut from minimalistic club grooves to blissed-out tropical chuggers, via further atmospheric excursions.

Whilst 'Time To Act' serves up a dynamic symphony of FX-laden elements joining forces to fight off anxiety for our future, Theo Meier’s revamp takes the track into further functional club territory with clinical poise. The even lusher 'Night Owl' reels out as an ode to nature and its healing powers, bringing forth a vibrant mix of bassy power and refined, balearic-informed ambient scapes, whereas Midas 104’s version injects just the right amount of bounce and jazz into its hypnotic folds. 'Watatata', a collaboration with Jacob Stille, smoothly takes you on the other side with an innovative and playful touch and 'Twisted Mind' simply rounds it all up with an intergalactic bang.

Channeling earthly energies with a strongly poetic power of evocation, 'Planet D' is an invitation to refocus, carried by the hope of fuelling a new, sustainable vision for tomorrow.

Exclusive Ivory 'Eyesberg Contact'

Have you ever made eyesberg contact to a person? Italian artist Ivory not only created a neologism with his latest track on Scatcity, moreover the in-demand producer describes the situation of a human encounter that is not crowned with success as it is one-sided and the warmth one has to give is not returned at an emotional level and can be summarized with the words 'Eyesberg Contact'. The highly acclaimed title track skillyfully transfers the aforementioned into notes. Starting off rather smoothly and making contact with the listener dark synth-chords echo in the background of the track. As soon as the bass line becomes more techy the sharp synth stabs exchange their reserved existence and step to the foreground. In a marching manner the track then turns to the dance floor track one would assume from Ivory – the twirling and twisting chords toss the listener around like a wildy maneuvered Titanic before it hit the iceberg.

Ivory's EP 'Eyesberg' will be released February 8th, 2019 on Scatcity.

You guys founded a new label called The Modern Age. What’s the different to Lukins?

Two years ago we both moved back to our hometown Eberswalde. Since then we have kind of collective with Idaam and Apart. Out of this crew we founded Lukins for events and electronica music. Lukins is more about art and projects beyond club music and club culture. Actually that was the reason to launch The Modern Age – to have a platform for our more clubby T.M.A style. (...)
