Sound Advice: Jazzy

Join Jazzy on Sound Advice, the weekly interview series covering artists’ journeys and their creative process. In this episode, we discuss the Irish dance vocalist and DJ’s vocal house hits with Sonny Fodera, Ibiza residency, GEWAH Selects project and more.

Welcome to Sound Advice, the series spotlighting artists’ creative process and their SoundCloud journey. We’ll get the inside knowledge straight from the source on how musicians, producers and creatives are leaning into everything SoundCloud offers to elevate their sound, get heard and catapult their careers. Sound Advice is now available in audio format on the SoundCloud Stories profile.

On this week’s Sound Advice, we’re talking to Jazzy, the Irish dance music sensation whose irresistible voice tops huge house hits like “No Bad Vibes” with KILIMANJARO and “Somedays” with Sonny Fodera and D.O.D. Hailing from the south side of Dublin, Jazzy has had a meteoric rise to success over the past few years, going from working in a local supermarket chain to linking up with hometown heroes Belters Only to create chart-topping hits, like 2021’s “Don’t Stop Just Yet” and 2022’s “Make Me Feel Good.”

From there, Jazzy was nominated for a BRIT and Ivor Novello Award, released her own solo music and became the first Irish female solo artist to reach No. 1 in the UK Singles Chart in 14 years. In June 2023, Jazzy’s accomplishments were celebrated as part of SoundCloud’s Ascending series, leading to her first-ever billboard. As her journey in music continued to progress, Jazzy also learned how to DJ, further cementing herself as a tastemaker. She recently launched her international club brand GEWAH, which first got its start as a mix series on SoundCloud and continues to evolve as a creative hub.

Jazzy called into Sound Advice from Ibiza — where she’s been performing all throughout summer 2025 alongside Sonny Fodera for her first major residency at the iconic nightclub Pacha — to talk about her journey so far, how some of her biggest hits came together and her new GEWAH Selects release. She also filled us in on how she uses SoundCloud to get new listeners and offer fan exclusives, and gives us some advice about collaboration, overcoming stage fright and keeping the vibes strong.

Things We Talked About In This Episode of Sound Advice

Jazzy’s Ibiza Residency With Sonny Fodera and The Roots of Her Hit Tracks

  • Jazzy joins Sound Advice from Ibiza, where she’s been performing all summer alongside house DJ/producer Sonny Fodera at the iconic nightclub Pacha, marking her first major residency on the island. Throughout the summer, Jazzy has shared a stage with the likes of D.O.D, Armand Van Helden and Dombresky, among others. It’s been a transformative time for the Irish vocalist and DJ, who’s come to love the White Isle and its deep dance music culture. Jazzy’s been traveling to Ibiza to perform for the last three years, sharing how, now, it all feels like it’s clicking into place.
  • A track that’s been bumping in Ibiza, and around the UK, is “No Bad Vibes,” Jazzy’s collaboration with DJ/producers KILIMANJARO and Jayda G. Here, Jazzy talks about the genesis of that collaboration in a songwriting camp, the EP of the same name, its connection to Ibiza and how the track has enjoyed a long life on social media, streaming and clubs thanks to a rolling tide of remixes.

How Jazzy Found Her Confidence As a Vocalist and Made Breakthrough Hits with Belters Only

  • Taking it back to the beginning, we hear about Jazzy’s origins and how she came to be a vocalist. Growing up in Dublin, Ireland, Jazzy explains how she was a shy girl who gradually found her confidence with singing through joining her school choir. At home, she was surrounded by a mix of reggae and Irish music, and her mother’s love of Celine Dion developed her interest in powerful female vocalists. As a teenager, Jazzy remembers, she listened to Lauryn Hill, Whitney Houston and Michael Jackson
  • Her big break, though, was when she was invited to a studio session with Belters Only, a production duo from Dublin who were searching for the right singer for their energetic yet soulful house tracks. Here, Jazzy talks about how they made her first tracks, “Make Me Feel Good” and “Don’t Stop Just Yet,” and how those tracks led to her being signed to her record label.
  • When Jazzy started singing, writing and recording with producers, she had to work through her shyness to find the confidence and stamina to be a working artist. Here, she reflects on the challenges she’s worked through to build that confidence up, and the advice that she’d give fellow vocalists who are coming up in the scene now.
  • For Jazzy, it can be daunting to go into a session without a set idea of what you want to record, but don’t worry — listen closely to the tracks, write down all your ideas and trust your instincts. “Throw it all out there and don’t be so shy,” she says.

Jazzy’s Love of House Music, DJing and Her New GEWAH Selects Project

  • Jazzy started going to clubs when she was a teenager, and fell in love with house music almost instantly. Here, she talks about how house music has inspired her work as a vocalist and DJ — particularly with her latest project, GEWAH. Named after a vocal chant that comes from Dublin slang, GEWAH is Jazzy’s DJ brand that started off as a mix series on SoundCloud. Growing from her own DJ mixes, GEWAH has become a global, visual DJ mix series, with sets from Berlin, Toronto, Ibiza and beyond.
  • On October 3, Jazzy is releasing GEWAH Selects, a compilation of her original tracks, remixes, collaborations and more, featuring artists like KILIMANJARO, Luuk van Dijk, Camrin Watsin, Rossi and Gaskin. Here, Jazzy talks about the project and how it’s the next stage in her creative journey.
  • As a DJ, Jazzy came up on SoundCloud, posting her mixes and engaging with fans on the platform via track comments. Here, she reflects on how she grew her confidence through those regular uploads and community interactions, how she booked shows through requests in the comments, and how engaging that early online fanbase has grown into her vlogging from tour life and capturing BTS content today.
  • Another way that she’s spread her music is through uploading the acapellas of her tracks, like “No Bad Vibes,” to SoundCloud for free download. From there, producers in her community have remixed her tracks, furthering the reach and life of her material. These remixes allow her voice to flow over different genres of dance music, from house to bass, amapiano and more.

Jazzy’s Chart-Topping Rise and What’s Coming Next in 2026

  • Jazzy’s rise to fame in the last few years has been remarkable. With two No. 1 singles in Ireland and three Top 10 singles in the UK, she’s broken into the mainstream with her uplifting house sound. Not only that, she’s been nominated for a BRIT Award and an Ivor Novello, and became the first Irish female solo artist to top the UK charts in over a decade. Here, Jazzy reflects on this momentum and how her achievements have emboldened her to keep creating.
  • One of Jazzy’s biggest tracks to date, “Somedays,” hit No. 5 in the UK Singles Chart after it dropped in the summer of 2024. Here, Jazzy talks about how she made the track with Sonny Fodera and D.O.D. Much of Jazzy’s growing confidence with singing and songwriting had come from her experience in writing camps. Here, Jazzy talks about how writing camps work and what it’s done for her as a rising artist.
  • Looking forward to the rest of 2025, Jazzy is getting ready to embark on her debut US headline tour. After the tour, she’s heading back into the studio to work on her next album, which is due in 2026. You can find more information about Jazzy’s tour dates here.
