Marshmello, renowned for pushing boundaries in electronic music, is returning to the foundational sounds that played an integral role in cementing his legacy as one of today’s most innovative producers.
Fresh off releasing his latest EP, ‘The Roots,’ a 10-track collection channeling his trademark blend of hard-hitting trap and melodic bass, the acclaimed DJ and producer is inviting fellow artists to tap into their own creativity with the official #RemixTheRoots challenge.
In collaboration with SoundCloud — where he first began dropping gems and connecting with day-one fans over a decade ago — Marshmello is offering an opportunity for artists to remix the high-energy trap banger, “Just Can’t Stop.”
“I decided to drop the ‘Just Can’t Stop’ stems for everyone to remix because this was the first song I made for the ‘The Roots’ project,” the Joytime Collective label boss shares. “This song reminds me of my roots and my beginnings in trap music.”

To enter, begin by streaming “Just Can’t Stop,” here, click the ‘remix button,’ and get to work. After receiving exclusive access to the stems for the track, you can either utilize Fadr’s dashboard of creator tools to remix the track directly, or you can download the free production bundle to use within your own personal DAW.
When ready to showcase your talents, upload your remix to SoundCloud and be sure to tag #RemixTheRoots and @MarshmelloMusic in the track description. To enter the contest, return to the contest page on Fadr and enter using the official submission form. There, you can also review all the contest details, including the official prizes, terms and conditions.
Marshmello will be keeping an eye out for his favorites, and will be listening and commenting throughout the remix challenge’s duration.
