This week, we introduce you to Jake Compton, one of Brighton's exciting new school producers. 'ID' showcases Jake’s production style perfectly, as he fuses moogish synthetic drags with gnarly subs and choppy, sharp drum pushes, giving the track a real potent sense of 4x4 energy. We are very excited to welcome Jake into the extended Southpoint family.

Since the original was released, 'Desert Eagle' has received a tonne of support from some of grime scene's most popular DJs, making this VIP all the more potent. Dunman gets seriously busy with it, refixing the rhythms into a more high tempo structure, along with a bag of new twisted bass sounds and drum chops, allowing the original to keep its potency whilst still upgrading it for 2019.

2019 was an incredible year for the 'Introducing' platform. We surpassed 100 releases, amassed over 5000 followers on SoundCloud and moved into the second official series. 

For our debut release of 2020, we welcome the futuristic bass sounds of Greed and BTW, two producers we have had our eyes on for quite some time. They touch down for their debut 'Rich Boy', a saucy heater dripping with fuzzy bass overtones and expertly sliced samples, making this one a serious heater for the dance.

With his previous features behind him, he goes all out on this latest piece entitled ‘Believe’, which sees him switch up the flavour into a more UKG inspired bassy stomper, fuelled by abstract vocal manipulation, colourful harmonic structures and groovy drum riffs. It’s the perfect soundtrack to any summer evening.

At Southpoint, we are proud to represent so many different areas of underground UK dance music, with so many different elements now being thrown into the melting pot. The label's roots lay in grime, however, which is why we are so happy to be welcoming a brand new Brighton-based grime producer who goes by he name of El-Laurie. He arrives with a tailslide as we unveil a war-ready creation by the name of 'Foot Soldier'. It's a fantastic introduction to the team as El Laurie perfectly fuses the swampy bass textures of new school dubstep with raucous reese bass leads and super choppy drum textures, unleashing some serious energy into the dance.
