The Theramin Trip feat. Jay

I started working on this song on August 3rd, 2014.
The basis of the concept was to recreate, from the ground up, one of my favorite songs from the 80’s. It is a cover of the original song written by Russ Ballard and performed by former ABBA Singer “Frida” and released in 1982. I always loved how dark the song was and most of all the drum pattern enthused me – which comes as no surprise, considering Phil Collins produced this song and laid down the drum track for it. The original drum track had Phil’s signature reverse-gated heavy sound, and Phil has always been one of my favorite artists/producers. He is an underrated and extremely talented guy. So to pay homage i knew the song had to be done with certain artifacts, timing and feeling to hold strong next to the original 32 years. My theory is that if you are going to cover or remix a song that has already proven itself, you better be at least as good as the original or you are wasting time. Which is why I spared no expense, time or effort to get it where i was finally happy with it.
