This is a performance of my arrangement of Gnossiene III on Classical Guitar. It was originally written for piano by Satie. Satie is minimalistic, likes double notes, mystery and vagueness. The key of his pieces are often ambiguous (whole tone scale).

Composed by Keith Kramer. Performed live at An die Musik in Baltimore, Maryland on April 21, 2012 by Trio Giocoso:  Nicholas Currie, violin; Adam Gonzalez, violoncello; Diana Greene, piano. Suspension of Disbelief is a work for piano trio that incorporates scalar and harmonic materials derived from Hindustani and Japanese traditions. While there is no attempt to mimic the traditional uses of these materials, their incorporation is a nod to the work of John Patrick Welsh, highly noted composer, theorist, koto and shamisen player, pianist and painter, to whom this work is dedicated. As a member of the Washington Toho Koto Society for two decades, he composed and performed the koto and shamisen for the ensemble. My experiences in John Welsh’s classes at UMBC had a huge impact on me as an educator and a composer, and I am forever grateful for having the privilege to study with him.

This song was soundtrack Marcel Camus movie's, Orfeu do Carnaval, 1959. It was composed by Luis Bonfá and had lyrics by Antonio Maria. Became famous music in the USA as "Black Orpheu", it was one of the songs that showed Bossa Nova to american jazz in the late 1950s, becoming a standart.
