Prominent sound slooth @sortof-vague joins the mix series this month with a high-energy set worthy of this year's overdue festival season. Each of these tunes represents a different time period, specifically different shows that he's played over the past 4 years. Sometimes referencing the past is the best way to move into the future and we commend him for reminding us that it's ok to play tunes that are more than 2 weeks old. He's been busy in the studio too and we look forward to hearing some new original material from the man later this year!

Although certain styles of DnB are receiving heavy attention, newer listeners may be less familiar with important sub-styles of drum and bass as well as artists and songs stemming from the more raw and visceral end of the spectrum — much of which is connected to the genre's important jungle roots. Mezmer performed live visuals during this set, so I asked him to remix Tom Loranz's painting Naranja to accompany this release.
