My good friend (and partner in crime) Titch and I, were trying to translate our summer vibes into a new mix. Est ist wieder zeit fur wurst, BBQ time!

So we bought some new tunes; nice and easy going techno and house, more mellow moody music than you guys are probably used to hearing from us.

 We started of quite easygoing, but we somehow got lost during the mix: the Sandwell sound crept in and the mix took a different turn. However we think its worth sharing so give it a listen.

Yesterday it was a grey and dark day in Amsterdam and inspired by the more recent sets on CLR we were bound to record a nasty and cold mix.

Ryan got some extra inspiration from a quite infamous movie called 'The Human Centipede', which was actually recorded just around the corner of his family's house. We have been collecting tracks all weekend and we recorded this mix in one go. No preparation, just good old Stroef & Titch at the decks.

STR&TT01 - Titch & Stroef - The Stroef & Titch Tribal show

These tracks were played at the party E.M.M.A., on the 31st of July 2010. An absolute blast, playing alongside a lot of Amsterdam and Utrecht techno heroes such as Martyro, Tek-No-Bee and Carlos Rios and of course my esteemed Belgian colleague Double U Jay, who all played awesome sets.

Some additions were made to make the set a little longer. Unfortunately the live set there wasn’t recorded so we have tried to recreate the set as far as we could. It’s an ‘old-fashioned’ tribal party techno set. Mixed the old-fashioned way: three turntables and a mixer. Enjoy.

A label where he releases his own work but also techno tracks from friends and kindred spirits.

Stroef is an Amsterdam based techno dj and producer. Primary influences are Jeff Mills' legendary Tokyo Liquidroom 1995 set and Surgeon's 'Force + Form' album. Later on harder techno sets like High Heel Techno by Dylan Drazen but also his more deep house oriented sets like 'Carry on' and 'Caught in The Act'. It showed him he wanted to play different kinds of techno, from Detroit to dub techno and electro. 

In 2002 he bought his first two decks and since 2005 he has been mixing with three turntables ever since. His mixing style can be described as fast and progressive: often starting out slow and ending harder. He always tries to tell his listeners a story. 

He was also Question clubnight (R.I.P.) resident and and fellow organiser.
