Discos Capablanca return with a record from the mysterious Detroit-based Sharif Laffrey (we know little more than his place of birth, and that he likes to ride his bike and warm weather) who brings the heat on the Turn It Up 12". Recorded in Detroit in the late 80s and released on a cassette tape compilation in 1988, the original "Turn It Up" is a long forgotten gem from the period that Electro was beginning to morph and mutate into nascent forms of Techno. Excavated by Hugo Capablanca's label, the track is presented in an edited version that stays true to the original and complemented by an Acid Dub Not Dub version that implements plenty of deranged 303 action.

Let's have a trip in the samba country with this funky track from "Brazilian Disco Boogie Sounds". it's a compilation that brings together nine of the most important and obscure hits of the Brazilian Funk-Boogie-Disco scene during the years of 1978 to 1982. "Ripa Na Xulipa" appears as the best track for us. Aproveite!

Faze Action return with a brand new 12", teaming up with Zimbabwean born Zeke Manyika to create "Mangwana". Sung in Zeke's native Shona, and taking influences from Mory Kante, South African Kwaito to early house, Faze Action manage to create a record that harks back yet still has a modern and contemporary feel and is set to be the soundtrack to countless festivals and outdoor parties this summer.

The title track is followed by the stunning "Chiiko”, featuring Zeke’s vocals enriched by Rob’s ‘cello’s with African rhythms floating you away to another tropical world.

A Vision of Panorama turns up the dial with a stunning mix on the flip side. A new bass line adds to some quality keyboard work.

Finally the brothers deliver are more stripped out dub "Paradise ‘89 Mix" tailored for the peak time.

JLM and Chris Wang started the party Love Dancing in 2009 in Vancouver, BC, Canada. Love Dancing, along with Jesse Proudfoot and Chris Allen’s Good Faith,  was a formative dance experience for many of us in Vancouver and an essential ingredient in the Mood Hut stew. The music on this disc dates from that period and captures some of the energy of the Love Dancing parties. We hope you enjoy it.

Deep within the hills of Italy lay a great temple. It's golden ceiling glimmered from above as it poked its head through the mystical treetops. Inside the temple lay paintings showcasing decades of history and art. It lay undiscovered and unfound, it had sat peacefully tucked away from the world since the war had broken out. One day it would be turned into a pristine tourist attraction and all of the history would be replaced by the marching pitter patter of feet on marble. However, for now it remained still and eerie. 

Enzo Avitabile is remixed by Ransom Note affiliate Bawrut on a new EP for Silencio. He delivers a tropically inspired acid workout complete with percussion and a low end rumble.

Transmitting straight from the 10th floor of a beat-down Rotterdam skyscraper is Studio Barnhus debutant Mark Fader. When he's not analyzing the bird life outside his studio window or contemplating matters of love, death and office management, Fader enjoys churning out true school electro cuts with a modern edge and some extra fonk. We were lucky enough to catch four examples of this to put on record. Vinyl only release because it felt good this time. Studio Barnhus is forever!
