Singer/Songwriter from Scotland. 25 years old. It's the old cliche but I wanna make it, I wanna be a successful singer/songwriter, it's my biggest passion and ambition. Currently gigging, currently recording too. I'm recording what will hopefully be my first EP. Apologies for this name-dropper thing but ' I WILL EVOLVE ' has been given airplay by Jim Gellatly. My stream right now is a split between live sem-acoustic front-room recordings and studio recordings. My biggest inspirations and influences are Noel and Liam Gallagher, Bob Dylan, Kurt Cobain, John Lennon, Tom Petty, Buddy Holly, Bruce Springsteen, Neil Young and Johnny Cash, to name but a few, I could go on.... That being said, I reckon my songs are original and melodic in their own right. I love Americana sounds, bluesy and folksy sounds, jazzy sounds, psychadelia and dreamy sounds, depth, intensity and authenticity in songs and songwriting. That's what i'm trying to emote. Ben Howard returns with his 4th album, Collections From The Whiteout, produced alongside Aaron Dessner (The National). The foreboding darkness that coated Ben’s second record I Forget Where We Were and thinly veiled its follow up Noonday Dream, isn’t so evident on Collections. These are songs written from headlines scanned, or news stories scrolled past, providing inspiration for a selection of vivid narrative snapshots – the death of amateur sailor Donald Crowhurst (Crowhurst’s Meme); Russian fraudster Anna Sorokin (Sorry Kid); the man who stole and crashed a plane in Seattle (The Strange Last Flight Of Richard Russell); and the dismembered body a friend of his father found in a suitcase floating along the Thames (Finders Keepers). Alongside them, the personal anecdotes from the same scattered period living between Paris, Devon and Spain. Yussef Dayes features, as does Kate Stables (This Is The Kit), James Krivchenia (Big Thief), Kyle Keegan (Hiss Golden Messenger), and Dessner. Thomas Bartlett, St. Vincent’s go-to pianist, and Rob Moose, a long-standing arranger of strings for Bon Iver, are also present. Long-term guitarist to Ben’s band, Mickey Smith (A Blaze of Feather), remains a reassuring constant. It’s a sonic adventure that continues this nagging suggestion that Ben is one of the UK’s most inventive and naturally talented songwriters. CFTW is his latest opus, and arguably his most fully realised to date.

The Holy Ghosts, performed for the first time in January 2012 to spread the word of the rock n roll gospel. They are a five-piece band from Edinburgh playing Rock n' Roll/Country and a dash of the Blues. They draw inspiration from the 60s and 70s and apply a modern Scottish twist.

Performing live remains the groups forte with the use of razor sharp guitars, wailing harmonica, honky tonk piano, spine tingling three part harmonies and charismatic stage presence make them an exciting live performance. 

The Edinburgh five piece have already been making an impact on the Scottish music scene with festival slots up and down the country. They have also played alongside Shaun Ryder as main support in Edinburgh’s Liquid Rooms, played to a sold out crowd in the HMV Picture House, shared the stage with The Proclaimers at Heb Celt Festival, impressed Chris Helme from The Seahorses and was recently joined on stage by members from Alabama 3.

The band released their first EP 'Devil On Your Side EP' in March 2012 with Scottish producer Garry Boyle (Broken Records, The Banana Sessions and Stanley Odd) and Owen Morris (Oasis, The View), they went on to released their second EP - Voodoo Shakedown in March 2013. Both EP's have been aired across the UK on the BBC, Camden Unsigned, Alternative Manchester FM, Heartland FM and many university radio stations. 

They also recently picked up 'Best Newcomer' at this years SAMA 2013 and have also performed live on BBC ALBA for their RAPAL TV show. 

Their debut album is to be released Spring 2014 with 4 accompanying music videos.
