"Vulgar" [Album]

A remarkable release for VūMantra Records, “Vū - Vulgar” marks the number 50th on the catalog of the label.
Those 7 tracks, composed in 2021 by Vū, were meant to be played in a forest during a summer ritual gathering.
The tracks were made quickly and rawly, collecting old samples from previous trips in Morocco and the Mediterranean coasts, and recordings of Lo-fi percussions, voices and instruments played by Vū himself in studio.
With this material Vū was deliberately searching for a Lo-Fi sound and leave the mix and composition simple, to let the atmospheres and moods created by those samples to speak for themselves.
Among the recordings Vū utilised also some from the singer of “Dead Space Chamber Music” Ellen Southern, which were recorded in few abandoned and hunted places in England, plus few sounds from street musicians in Morocco. The title of the album is taken for its sound not for its meaning, and recalls the first album of the other music project of Vince Gagliardi , The Nent - “Vulner” , underlining a vague distorted reflection of the 2 artworks, like in a old broken mirror.

Vince Gagliardi (a.k.a. Vū) is a 3D artist and music producer of futuristic shamanic electronic music from Berlin. He is also the founder of the label “Vumantra Records”, artistic director of the collective “Modern Bön” and creator of the audiovisual project “The Nent” (Cyclic Law), well-known for its impactful A∖V live performances.

His performances focus on an immersive experience creating endarkening rhythms and low frequencies. Drum machines clash against the voice and percussion that he plays live in order to keep the focus on the moment, as well as for the shamanic vibes of the crowd. Some of Vū’s tracks have already been released also on the Pact Infernal’s label "Altar", Borders of Known (GE), Dark Alchemy (UK), Voidance (DE), Elektro Tribe (DE) Furanum Records (DE) Area Z (FR), and more.

He is currently collaborating with plenty of artists from the dub/techno/ritual/industrial scene, to dig into the meditative states of the lower frequencies and feed the catalog of his label VūMantra records.

The Various Artists « Free Palestine » will be released on @trevemusicofficial on 11 December and will bring together around twenty artists (including @nemsb , @morphvan1, @radical-ofc, @cyberlife-music @clarencerise, @ronny_pinazza, @marekbartunek @alextirellimusic  and many more…) from the deep techno, experimental and ambient spheres. 

For the occasion, I wrote a special track called 'Path of Peace', with its duality of melancholy ambient melodies and sharp techno rhythms. Happy listening, and don't hesitate to support this wonderful peace project! 🕊️🕊️🕊️

Sub Accent -  Path Of Peace

Atlas (/ˈætləs/; Greek: Ἄτλας”, Átlas) – an Olympic God, and a descendent of the Titans, condemned to hold up the heavens for eternity. A philosopher, mathematician and astronomer, and inventor of the first celestial sphere.

Whatever Atlas you refer to, you’d refer to something infinitely vast and etheric. And this is how we’d define the sound of Bayern based Vincent Vetter. Although having been an established DJ and producer within the German Psychedelic scene for a decade, we at Navigare HQ feel honored to launch his tranced-out Techno project Atlas to a wider global audience. We released his debut single “Alpha” on the Navig​ē​ra compilation earlier this year, a crunchy and highly versatile dancefloor bomb, that could be played at any hour of a party, and encouraged Vincent to keep on sending us new material.

His debut EP is an impressive work of art, following the sonic pathway of “Alpha”. Through crystal-clear production, a massive rhythmic section and a progressive and highly musical kind of storytelling, Atlas has found a niche, balancing expressiveness with subtleness elegantly. Music not afraid of taking up space, for people not afraid of expressing their beings through dance. And yes, being aging Swedish acid heads, we at Navigare Audio can’t help but feeling nostalgic and proud to feel the celestial spirit of early Spiral Trax and Digital Structures being revived, 20-25 years later, from a land far, far away.

To balance things up, to add a bit of yang to the yin, we invited brother Ness to revision “Tao”. And although we’ve already released a whole bunch of bangers from him, this one could possibly be his best to date. Distinctively Ness, yet with a load of new ideas, this one is, in short, a psychedelic butcher. We’re in awe, and we suspect this will make many jaws drop in 2024.
