Ameeth Shah is a genre-bending DJ and producer whose journey spans South Africa’s top nightclubs, events, airwaves, TV to national festivals and global DJ battles. Crowned 2018 South African Red Bull 3Style DJ Champion, his sets combine precision with passion, delivering powerful, crowd-shifting experiences.

Originally from Durban and now based in Johannesburg, Ameeth curates soundscapes that blend Afrobeat, Amapiano, Hip Hop, R&B, Pop, House, UKG, and many more. With versatility and authenticity at his core, his music transcends borders and speaks to both heart and feet.

1 Half of the Duo Four7&LukeM

Neelan Munnick and Luke Mains, better known in the music circles as Four7 & LukeM. The duo have had a series of mixtape releases with various bootlegs and remixes being showcased with downloads and plays in excess of 40 000 people per release.

Four7 & LukeM came together through mutual acquaintances and quite rapidly found that their love for music had drawn them to spending hours learning and feeding off one another’s style of production, as well as their individual musical influences. They are both self-taught music producers. Together, they have found a fresh sound that sets them apart from other up and coming DJ’s. One of their biggest remixes “Take Me Back”, of a local band from their hometown created waves across South Africa and abroad to neighbouring countries. Having their music being requested to their influential artists, Four7 & Luke M gained the support from South African legends such as DJ Fresh and DJ Kent, promoting the young producers music on 5fm. Four7 & Luke M managed to get their music across the country by making use of every opportunity and platform available. The Four7 and Luke M sound includes various elements and influences which seem to please their continuously expanding fan base.

Individually, the artists continue to experiment with new production techniques and house music sub genres which allows their sound to progress as a collective. The duo enjoy a large following in their hometown and throughout the country with them often headlining at some of the most well-known nightclubs in South Africa. Their bootlegs and remixes are very often heard on national radio stations and used by well established DJ’s in their sets.

These artists intend to continue progressing their music, believing in the fact that there is always more to learn and acquire on the path of their musical journey, hereby making a positive impact on the South African and global house scene whilst remaining true to the humble beginnings.

Best known as the DJ for (POC) Prophets of the City, DJ Ready D toured Europe extensively with POC for a period of six years and performed alongside groups like Public Enemy, Fugees, Ice T, Spearhead, James Brown, Rob Swift, Steve D, Will Smith, Black Eyed Peas, DJ Spinna, Jazzy Jeff, etc.

Apart from performing in clubs, DJ Ready D took the art of hip hop DJing into many areas where it was unknown, including big music events around South Africa such as the Ice Festival, Synergy, Camel Experience, Oppikoppi and the KKNK Festival (a week-long tour into rural and underprivileged areas where most of the community do not have electricity), Woodstock Festival, Alex Groll International Inline Skating Championships, Redbull Downhill Extreme Champs, Grahamstown Jazz Festival, North Sea Jazz Festival and various TRADE and expo shows.

DJ Ready D played at the Presidential Inauguration of Nelson Mandela and the Quincy Jones Montreux Jazz festival in Switzerland. DJ Ready D also appeared alongside POC in the movie Dangerous Ground, starring Ice Cube and Liz Hurley.

DJ Ready D was also Master of Ceremonies, DJ and producer of the group Brasse Vannie Kaap and also reviews DJ equipment and writes DJ advice for music magazines. Currently hosts his own shown on one of South Africa's biggest commercial radio stations Good Hope FM (Mon-Thurs 8pm -11pm www.goodhopefm.co.za and is owner of Scratch Lab DJ Training Facility with DJ Azuhl & E20.

Biography
Kyle Deutschmann started his music career by learning guitar at the end of junior school and singing casually. After school he began to take it more seriously and starting to perform at cafe evenings and restaurants. In 2012 he entered idols SA and finished in the top 20 and that has propelled his passion for music and his career to no end. He is currently putting together a demo e.p that is sounding amazing. His unique tone of voice and his acoustic set is comparable to no other. Kyle is a part of the current idols season 10 (2014- still running)

Kyle has performed around South Africa at the most prestigious venues such as the Cape Town waterfront, the Radison Hotel, Quay 4, The Dubliner, Live the venue, Vaca Mata, Suncoast casino, Chris Saunders park and Sun City. Sharing studio time and producers with HHP’s label and dj’s such as Euphonic’s own G-Funk, and SAMA nominated Sketchy bongo. Kyle’s first single with dj’s G-Funk and Tista is currently getting airplay on 5fm, and was selected for the famous “BUMP” and “ultimix at 6” compilations for 2013, and has been released to all radio stations by label Soul Candi. Kyle is featured on the Cassper Nyovest album with his track called Alive.

Kyle’s talents aren’t only limited to the music industry, at the age of 27, he is a Doctor of Chiropractics, a key player for the national beach soccer team and a model at models international. Kyle is a very influential, highly fashionable and popular guy with his finger on the pulse as to what is “hip and happening” in the Durban city, fashion and trends at large.

TV and interview experience: Idols show 2012 and 2014 (current)- ALOT of interviews and gives one first hand in depth experience on reality tv. Being an ex professional footballer, got asked for a lot of pre and postmatch interviews. Modeling work and shooting tv commercials for mr price, the hub, wolf and York, philidelphia cheese to name some of the recent stuff.

Jay Em are the face of ‘new school’ music in South Africa. Waven and Ruwayne are brothers from the Eastern Cape and with their hometown, Port Elizabeth, on their sleeves they create these sick grooves that transform any setting into a dance floor. Their music is rooted in funk, soul, hip hop and downtempo but when you hear their music you begin to understand that they are creating a genre all of their own. 

Just a year ago they were living in ‘die dal’ (the hood), working in a Clicks, trying to make ends meet to support their hard working mother who has been carrying the household since school days. After the passing of their best friend Neelan Munnick, Hitmaker of well known song J’Adore (otherwise known as Four7) they became driven to see a change in their lives though. While having the love for music and wanting to make it in the industry, they want to use the platform to inspire people from their hometown, motivate them and especially the area they grew up in (The Northern Areas of Port Elizabeth)

They started making beats from their bedroom in their mother's house using an old laptop and a DVD player, not having any knowledge back then of the art of “mixing & mastering”, they mastered the skill of using their ears to their advantage.

A pinnacle point in the brothers’ career came about when record label owner and one of South Africa’s finest selectors, Kid Fonque, from Stay True Sounds released “The September Blueprint”, a four track EP produced by the DJ duo. Through this release many doors began to open and a highlight for the brothers was getting to play a DJ mix on 5FM on Selective Styles which created a huge amount hype on social media and interest began to swell.

Jay Em entered a competition held by South African music giants, Mi Casa, to remix their hit single, Nana. Their remix was unapologetically themselves and without caving into the pressures of current musical trends they managed to win the remix  competition which opened even more doors for the brothers. Winning this competition saw them co-producing with Mi Casa for the upcoming project ‘WE MADE IT’ which, for the DJ duo, is an extremely exciting prospect.

Jay Em got taken under the wings of heavy weight musician J’Something who moved them into his house, built them a fully equipped studio & mentors them. Not only did they connect musically but their bond has grown into a brotherly love, as Jay Em calls him their big brother. December of 2018 Jay Em released their debut EP “The 011” on J’Something Label called “The Beat Club” which featured artist from Johannesburg and J’Something himself. The EP was to thank the city of Johannesburg for welcoming their unique sound into the city of gold.

I was not only blown away by their music but equally blown away by their humility, their love and appreciation for their mother, and their pride for their city, Port Elizabeth.
