“NYC-2-Africa-2-Brasil” features two of the world’s top reggae vocalists, Anthony B and Jahdan Blakkamoore, and builds on the NYC-2-Africa project from Subatomic Sound System & Nomadic Wax, an effort to musically connect the roots of NYC hip hop back through Jamaican reggae and then back to Africa. Here it takes another musical journey on an express train to Brasil where three Brasilian based top ranking producers reimagine the tracks from their unique perspective. NYC-2-Africa riddim was written and recorded in New York City, USA; Dakar, Senegal; and Kingston, Jamaica; tracing the roots of African rhythm through Jamaican dubwise dancehall reggae and NYC hip hop.  Vocals by Anthony B and Jahdan Blakkamoore. Music written and produced by Emch and Benny Beats. Brazilian based producers Victor Rice, Maga Bo, and Buguinha Dub continue the musical diaspora with these dubs and mixes. Mastered by Emch at the Subatomic Sound Lab, NYC.  Original songs released on the NYC-2-Africa riddim EP and remixed for the Anthony B "Dem Can't Stop We From Talk" remix release.

THE ARTISTS:  Anthony B (Jamaica) & Jahdan Blakkamoore (Brooklyn/Guyana) are two of the world’s most exciting conscious dancehall & roots reggae vocalists. Spearhead by producer, DJ, and instrumentalist Emch, NYC’s Subatomic Sound System is leading a dub music renaissance, founders of the US & Europe Dub Champions Festival, 5 years acting as the live band for legend Lee “Scratch” Perry on tours including Coachella & Red Bull Music Academy; plus independently touring North America, Europe, and Asia, and for a decade producing flavors ranging from classic dub to dancehall to dubstep.  Nomadic Wax is a Brooklyn based hip hop label led by drummer/producer Benny Beats, originally planned to focus on African music but later expanded to produce documentary films like “Democracy in Dakar” linking politics and music, as well as producing events like the International Hip Hop festival in New Haven, Connecticut.  Victor Rice operates from Total Running Time studios in Sao Paulo while Maga Bo & Buguinha are located in Rio De Janeiro, Brasil.

For over a decade Emch has been the producer, selector, and musician behind Subatomic Sound System and the Subatomic Sound label. Founded at the turn of the millennium, NYC’s Subatomic Sound System has built a reputation worldwide for explosive shows, genre bending production, and breaking down barriers with their unique adaptation of 1970’s Jamaican sound system culture and dub reggae studio techniques to all types of bass heavy music genres, current technology, and live performances. A record label, DJ/production crew, live band, and event promoters, the Subatomic Sound crew is at work in NYC on every level. For 3 years, Subatomic Sound Radio blasted out to a footprint of eleven million terrestrial listeners in the greater NYC area on KEXP's Radio New York broadcast, 91.5fm and also via BrooklynRadio.com  

Subatomic Sound System has toured throughout N. America, Europe, & Asia  including with Lee Scratch Perry at NYC's Central Park, RBMA NYC, Poland's One Love, and Moscow's Milk with John Forte.

As the Subatomic Sound record label head, Emch has produced and released dub reggae innovator Lee Scratch Perry's first dubstep tracks plus eclectic collaborations with icons like filmmaker David Lynch, Prince Far-i, & UK punk pioneer Ari Up of the Slits as well as new school torchbearers like Anthony B, Elephant Man, Jahdan Blakkamoore, Dubblestandart, & his own group Subatomic Sound System.

A DJ femininja Shaitemi Muganga desenvolve um projeto de discotecagem feminista, em que privilegia a música composta, cantada e produzida por mulheres cis e pessoas trans. Com interesse especial nas variadas sonoridades do mundo, principalmente as de origem africana, seu som passeia pelo samba, coco, brega e outras brasilidades, além de rap, funk, dub, afrobeat e diversas batidas latinas. 
Shaitemi integra o coletivo feminista NINFEIAS (Ouro Preto/MG), com que realiza diversos eventos nas ruas da cidade barroca, conjugando performance e discotecagem, e já atuou em eventos como Zona Lamm - Laboratório de Artes Musicais para Mulheres, DiversaS - Mostra Feminista de Arte e Resistência e a Semana Hip Hop: empoderamento feminino.
