All of us here at All Day I Dream have been super excited about this release for months. Not only does it contain the gorgeous original mix from Maher Daniel and Jon Charnis that has been melting ladies hearts all summer long but we also have quite a superb remix. Luca Bacchetti's Endless label is one of our favorites here and it was only a matter of time until we knew we were going to (gently) prize something special from his musical soul.  

His remix has caused a little bit of a stir. We've been bombarded on a daily basis with requests for it. Well, for all you bombarders, it's finally here. Initially we only sent it out to a tiny handful of friends and family. Dixon and Ame both played it in Panorama Bar on  the same night, and it's been a staple track in Lee Burridge's sets all summer. It never sounded better than at Burning Man festival this year and those lucky enough to have been there will attest to the mystical journey it weaved as it meandered out of the Robot Heart bus's perfect sound system and across the playa. One of it's most memorable moments, so far, for sure. Now it's time for you to create your own magic with it. The hardest decision you'll have to make is deciding which mix to play. Matt Relton, aka. Kidnap Kid’s music career started strong rather early: he must have been the only university student to ever have won the iTunes ‘Best Electronic Song’ in 2012 for his release ‘Vehl’ and went on to be the only postgraduate on tour with TEED and Disclosure the following year on a national ‘Hype Envoy’ tour of the United States.

His stamp onto the electronic music scene continued last year with the release of ‘Stronger’ – a club-orientated track that stood apart from its vocal-led predecessors. It opened him up to a world of new audiences as well as gaining strong support from the tastemaker cognescenti Pete Tong and Sasha. The next release on Matt Tolfrey’s Leftroom enters realms of deep, melodic, warm grooves,
with five tracks from various artists that follow the special edge the label have crafted.
There is no question that this EP will inflict an overwhelming desire to dance all day long in
the sun. However, throughout there’s a solid dance floor groove exploring darker elements
with full driving bass lines that contrast flawlessly with the warmer pads and smooth classic
house sounds.

‘Don’t Undastand’ by blossoming duo Huxley and Russo screams sun drenched ecstasy
with its classic house vocal tinged with Balearic spirit. Tranquil keys consume you in a
hypnotic wave, but don’t be fooled, this is a solid deep house groove and has a real raw
kick that steers the track over old school strings and warm synths.

Next up, ‘It Ain’t over Yet’ sees the collaboration between main man Matt Tolfrey and
exciting talent Maher Daniel. This modernly twisted track is designed to make you move,
as the duo create a true “injection of music” as heard by the male voice that travels over
warbling keys and a smooth warm groove.
Gavin Herlihy allows his production skill to speak for itself and his contribution to this EP is no
let down after prior releases on top labels such as Cocoon and Cadenza. ‘With Me’ is
squarely aimed at the dance floor with an array of quirky electronic sounds and vocals
that add new dimensions to the warm pads and rounded bass that drive the track.
‘Tromaville Rocks’ comes from Spanish born Julian Perez and delves into the sensuous side.

The deep, rounded, sexy sounds and enticing vocals that intertwine are sure to lock you in
a groove.

Finally, exciting young producer Jack Riley from Nottingham teaches us a lesson or two,
with his ‘Teach This’, a master class in playfully emotional piano house. With keys and
reverbs that add a distinctive heart-warming texture to the track, the forceful bass that
rolls at the bottom retains the solid dance floor pulse.

Leftroom consistently deliver the goods and this release is no exception. Full of deep
grooves and fresh standout talent, the EP has been getting early support from major
players at DC10 and Space throughout the summer. The ever-growing Leftroom family of
artists continues to epitomise the underground.

Great Stuff proudly presents volume six of it’s “To The Underground” series. The series features solely exclusive tracks. Hand picked with only the dance floor in mind. Tracks that will work crowds and elevate dj sets. 

To The Underground Vol.6 kick starts with JJ Mullor & Toni Carrillo’s “Yeah“. An uplifting tech house beast, that features a rolling bassline, which was constructed to take dance floors by storm. The smooth female vocal snippets and the tight groove programming are keeping things moving forward in a fun way.

I was first introduced to Spencer by Metodi Hristov who collaborated with him on “Basic Tricks”, their Hot Since 82/Danny Daze/Robert Dietz supported bomb from late 2014.

Since then he has given us “Vodka Way”. Was it an ode to the standard DJ rider most clubs opt for? Who knows... What I can say for sure is that it featured on GU’s (Top 10 tech house) Ibiza album and was supported by the likes of Catz’n’Dogz, Wade, The Mekanism & Thermalbear.

For his debut EP on GU he delivers 2 brand new solo tracks and a superb collaboration with Saved/Suruba/Kinetika artist Dennis Cruz.

“Impacto” (with Cruz) kicks off the EP. Heavy brass stabs and oddball vocal effects make a unique topline while some clever percussion and bouncing bottom end deliver a killer club groove that - to me - sounds as fresh and dance-floor ready as Metodi’s “Step Outside” did two summers ago. 

“Dynamite” takes things up a notch with looping vocals and air-punching synths. “Hard Struggle” maintains the energy levels with rolling synths, rapid-fire snares and a cool vocal and for those that missed it first time around, “Vodka Way” is here for you too.

Mo'Funk - Designed To Love (Original mix)

Panthera Krause's music-making habits teeter on the precipice between moody and outright fun house; a technique which has done wonders for the Leipzig melody maker since his early years. The mould was set with his weekly podcasts and 2012's "Cassandra" on local imprint O*RS. Then further solidified via the Yorikke EP in 2013 - a three-track mid-summer trip on Riotvan - and the delights of his Rules EP (2014) on Lobster Theremin and the Laika EP (2014) on Riotvan.

The Uncanny Valley connection was established during the back end of last year. The pumping “Coochie” formed part of the Uncanny Valley: Five Years On Parole release and was quite the foretaste. And here we arrive at "Umami"; a lesson in colourful and let-loose four-to-the-floor which first saw light on our recent Dresden show with the UV fam.

Nothing says “Happy New Year” more than the firing up of the promo engines. Waving our flag during the deluge that accompanies the first week of the new year is subtly sophisticated five tracker from Weisses Licht member Vynyard. Aurora Borealis is the perfect antidote for heads that are still tender, especially those who have attempted marathon stints at some of the most ludicrously awesome events worldwide to celebrate the dawn of 2016.

In some ways, Aurora Borealis is the most typical of Lucidflow releases; heavily dub house influenced with sharp and intricate percussion that has a twinkle in its eye. Naturally there is a certain spacial angle for its cosmically inspired track titles, the sounds contained within giving the illusion of an infinite space.

The title track kicks off the release with urgency, the syncopated elements driving through to the end. A perfect tension builder or a palate cleanser depending on situation, it is one of those delightful navigational tracks that is the all essential glue in many a set. Aurora Australis is considerably less frosty with its warm swinging low end. The focus here is less on dramatic tension but bottom shaking groove, helped along by the subtlest of melodic elements.

Also showing two sides of a coin are the Lunar Eclipse and Solar Eclipse tracks. The former takes its time to unfold and chooses deep darkness as its motif, appropriate for the darker of the phenomenon; it gradually grows with prominence to a subdued crest before fading as it appeared. The latter of the pair lives up to its flashy counterpoint. Sharp and angular; flares of progressive synth unfurl over the track in all its dark drama.

Completing the package is a remix of Aurora Borealis from label bosses Klartraum, who take the opportunity to indulge their own cosmic side, hearkening back to the early nineties definition of trance where it was about hypnotism and not horrific cheesy drops with grating synths. The staging is sublime with its graceful arpeggio and syncopated echoing elements.
