On Friday 20th of November a Pi x Phormix night took place at Six D.O.G.S. This time our special guest was one of our favourite DJs and producers, Silent Servant (Juan Mendez),  widely-known for his contribution in Sandwell District and his latest imprint, Jealous God. The night was really intense, with Juan performing both a stunning live and delivering a great DJ set. For the sake of your soul we decided to give you the whole recording from his DJ set. Vilius started producing in 2011 although he already had his first experiences in making music during his early childhood. His passion for Techno grew by trying out different genres which you can hear in his nowadays productions. Since then he released music on many labels like Suffused Music, Mistique Music but his release schedule is still developing. His style varies from deep melodic structures to atmospheric pads and drones.

Soma welcome a new artist to the label as Maltese based KONTAL debuts with What Lies Below. Having only begun the project at the tail end of 2017, Kontal steps up with four solid, dance floor ready tracks.

Broken Home kicks off with tough, jacked up drums hammering full pelt while disruptive synths set the tone. Trauma deliver yet more warped Techno with a pulsating synth hook building gradually throughout. Reflect brings out the more hypnotic and emotive side to Kontal as ethereal pads drift across more subtle percussive elements. Parallel closes Kontal’s debut Soma EP, keeping up the pace of previous tracks and creates a more dense and cerebral sound.

A well rounded and soundly produced EP, Kontal shows great depth of dance floor knowledge.

Agents Of Time are proud to present ‘Ordinary Cosmic Dance’, the new EP on their own Obscura imprint. Over three tracks the Bari based trio brandish hypnotic, looping melodies in techno structures with subtle trance references. It arrives a year after the birth of the label, which has since issued music by Hiver, Amandra and The Hacker amongst others.
‘Ordinary Chaos’ builds low end frequencies juxtaposed with a stripped back melodic lead and staccato bass.

Andre Crom‘s home-base sits between Berlin and Barcelona, his label OFF Recordings once again comes up with the goods on Euphoria.

Brazilian Lucas Freire has been located in Barcelona for a number years, building up a reputation of excellence behind the decks. Using his self taught mixing skills, he is known to harness the floor vibe and gained huge respect for his dedication to the craft. His back catalogue of productions also include outings for labels such as Driving Forces, Different Is Different and Naked Lunch, as continues to make an impact.

Featured as the remixers on this package are two titans, firstly an artist known for hitting labels like Hotflush, Innervisions, and Mote Evolver, Oliver Deutschmann runs a multitude of imprints and is consistently influential in his work.

Supplying the second rework is the Belgian Tom Hades, who continues to play a part in OFF Recordings after his recent EP and appearances on a variety of labels like Sleaze, 1605 and Silent Steps.

For this DT:Premiere we selected the leading track “Euphoria” for its chunky, rolling flow, backed with a warm bassline, and quirky hook. The powerful rhythm is soon complemented with detuned metallic bells, innumerable claps pursuing a lush, energetic aura throughout.

Three superbly crafted techno tools from Nihad Tule, with plenty of energy and impeccable attention to detail. Resurface offers trippy chords and ever changing patterns on top of a driving beat. On the flip, Passing is built on a deceivingly simple hook, sparkled with drones over a pounding 909. Ascend brings it all home with a gradually evolving hook, stripped down to the bare bones yet still offering a powerful crescendo.
