Hernan Cattaneo returns home with his studio partners Soundexile. However the boys have let some of their best friends and favourite remixers do the hard work this time, as two of the labels previous monsters have been reworked for 2014. 
Starting with Altair, a track directly coming from the last Cattaneo’s Masters Series CD, and its Hernan´s fav Guy J on remix duties. His trademark infectious vibe is injected here, with his magical spell cast over this mysterious soundscape with warm layers of sounds interlocking as the journey develops. This is both deep and melancholic, yet uplifting and epic, showcasing Guy's golden studio productions to the max! 
The second remix is of Infoxication and again in we went to Israel with two label favourites teaming up as Guy Mantzur and Lonya collaborate. This enigmatic reworking is a deep yet sprightly encapsulating voyage with its feet firmly on the dance floor, while its tonality and effects circulate around its cavernous grotto of sound.

HOPE 'XV' - Mix Preview (Out Now)

The talent Spaniard Fran Von Vie has released music on Last Night On Earth, M-Nus and Renaissance, and with his musical influences ranging from Sasha to Carl Craig via Richie Hawtin, and with DJ sets around the globe, the future is an ever expanding ray of light for him. Starting off with High Monsters, an infectious warm yet deep gem, featuring the cool vocal talents of Cio May whispering and flaunting effortlessly across a wash of warmth. The track gently meanders and builds to a tasty electronic drop. This is a rather tasty gem. Lonely Nights again features Cio May delivering some mesmerising beautiful vocals, while Frans production holds restraint while the track builds with subtlety being key here. A melodic layered dreamlike voyage that certainly ticks all of the boxes.
Remix duties kick off with Uner tackling High Monsters. Utilising the melodics to great effect, but adding his awesome hallmark mood creating tensions, this remix oozes of somebody seriously on top of their game.
The closing track of the package are from the talented Peruvian outfit Deaf Pillow and their interpretation of Lonely Nights. These guys having released on Get Physical and Kindisch are in fine form here, stripping things right back and provide an understated gem of a remix, deep and mesmerising throughout.

Sudbeat 046 features Australian producer Steve May who's been making music and DJ-ing for many years, gaining DJ support on his productions from Sasha, John Digweed, Carl Cox and Hernan Cattaneo (who used Open Day on his Renaissance Masters Mix).
The track Open Day itself is a punchy solid gem, melodic yet moody in its melancholic vibe, that meanders and builds to a tinkly keyed smile inducing moment and has been a staple of Mr Cattaneo's sets for ages, so seemed so right to release this!
On remix duties its to Argentina and Criss Deeper who has released music on 3rd Avenue and Stripped and has received radio pays from Hernan Cattaneo.
Criss' remix is a darker hypnotic phat grooved wonder that chugs along while the wondrous melodics add light.
Also including is a very cool downtempo version from Steve May that oozes warmth and gives instant visions of beaches in Ibiza...

After the warm and beautiful indie leaning EP from Dead Heat, Life and Death steps back up to the plate with two fresh dancefloor killers found in Mind Against's new Avalon EP. 

With sounds that seem plucked from an early 80s children's filmstrip gone very wrong (or perhaps very very right) Mind Against weave a dark, inspired charge into the black of night with both sides of this stunning EP.

On the A side is Several Times, a techno gem that comes out of the gate at breakneck pace with solid drums, bass and a rhythmic synth pulse that evolves slowly and strongly until finally augmented by a main analog synth line that reaches over from the other side and grabs you directly by the ears. It's an evocative melody that keeps the listener on edge with tones that are fully present yet almost barely hold together, teetering just on the edge of falling apart but never quite falling away from just where they need to be. A techno themed soundtrack to a disturbing Groundhog Day of the faraway future.

Over on the B side is the EP's namesake with a simmering sound that makes reference to the ancient island home of legendary sorceress Morgan Le Fey, sister of the famous King Arthur and whose mystic ways were to blame for mirages seen by sailors long out at sea. Here again an analog synth casts its spell on the listener, framed by delayed chords and a foreboding low end growl that slowly tell the tale of Avalon. Managing the difficult task of painting a picture without form, Mind Against weave an emotional drama without words and yet their vocabulary of sound seems keenly up to the task. No easy feat but one this duo have proven again and again that they are more than able to accomplish.

For the very first time «It's A Funky Record» has seen the light of day as a part of the label’s key compilation «Intricate Sessions Volume One». Those CDs were mixed by the same guys, Vladimir PROFF and Vadim Soloviev, prominent Russian producers and label co-founders. The mood and the sound of the track entirely match the title – this is a lively, joyful and exceptionally dancefloor-friendly progressive. «It's A Funky Record» might be without a doubt called the essence of that compilation. The track has organically united the renown musical tastes of both co-authors and their vision of contemporary electronic dance music. One of two remixes was produced by the young and impressively promising musician, Matt Fax. His juicy and in a good way unexpected sound has been an object of undiverted attention by the management of Intricate Records and later of numerous label followers. Unexpected that much just like the breakdown of his «It's A Funky Record» remix, where the usual buildup and breakdown are not following the regular rules — the track stops all of a sudden and then rushes to the culminating point with reinforced thrust. The second remix was made by the Ukrainian producer Konstantin Astafiev who is better known on the scene under the alias V I F. In contrary to the remix by Matt Fax, Konstantin did not decide to do drastic changes but added some very desired, soft and intelligent melodics.

After the big success of the latest releases, Neurotraxx Recordings comes back with a new high-class EP by Moonbeam’s favourite new talent, Deep Lark.
The original mix is a progressive deep journey along the way, you’ll be raptured by those thrilling Pryce’s vocals and synth melodies, too. Label bosses Aki Bergen and Seismal D provide two different re-interpretions of the song. The first one is a old school tribute to the 80s Electro-acid productions, Aki’s touch always surprises any listener. The second one is an incredibile, driven Techno tune. Seismal D has a pretty unique way to make music, just listen to his remix, once and again to seek all of the nuances and musical changes. Third remix is in the care of Francesco Pierguidi who shows how to perfectly match groovy beats with violent bass lines and sequences.

Yoram - Back In Time (Kobana Remix)

Antoine 'Acumen' Garcin has always held a propensity for considered dancefloor textures. For his latest release, however, the French label owner goes one better still, as he introduces us to his new label, Thrill of It. The label's first release comes thanks to the label head himself and is a beguiling three-tracker that hints at great times ahead for both the artist and the label.

As Acumen himself says; ''Thrill of It is a label that stands for emotions and special feelings on the dancefloor. It's important to us that our music stands out from the crowd – we don't want to release just rolling, peak-time tech-house. We want to make music that leaves a lasting impression.” Well, with regards to the Crush EP, it's safe to say that it's very much mission accomplished.

First up on the EP is Acumen's original, a water-tight melding of sounds that's imbued with a raw and rough-around-the-edges aesthetic. The heavy kicks lend the track the momentum, but it's the menacing bassline, the casio chords and the wicked vocal stabs that lift it higher still. Danton Eeprom then steps up to the plate with his emotion led remix of the latter. Full of melancholic facets and various other zippy nuances, it wraps the listener in a warm embrace that you won't want to let go of.

Acumen's second original is ''Follow Yourself'', a sprightly gem that earns its stripes thanks to a potent array of drums and an unlikely sample in the form of Baz Luhrmann's ''Sunscreen''. Seeing us out the gate is French duo Villanova, a duo who've made some impression recently thanks to their always spirited take on house music. Their take on ''Follow Yourself'' sees them continue their purple patch with a cheeky, pitched-back interpretation that's off-kilter but most definitely refreshing. One gets the feeling that Acumen & co. are just getting started.

Due to the great feedback we decided to put them on a 12-inch accompanying the Âme Live CD. Karl Hyde and James Lavelle on one 12-inch should be something for a lad's paradise and even 'Enoi' sounds brighter than before.
