A regular contributor to the finest dance music imprints of the underground scene, Simos Tagias makes a welcome debut on Meanwhile with his 'Euphoria' EP.

Bursting onto the scene in late 2012 and early 2013 with a clutch of releases on Modu and Lynx Records, Simos Tagias has overseen a career path with a steady upwards trajectory that has since seen some 400 production credits to his name. Indeed, Clubsonica Records, Mango Alley and Hernan Cattaneo’s Sudbeat Music have all played regular host to the Greek artist’s work, not to mention successful releases on Cid Inc.’s Replug and Aly & Fila’s hugely successful FSOE.

Now opening his account on GMJ & Matter’s ever-growing Meanwhile, 'Euphoria' immediately impresses as a collage of elements fly across the sonic spectrum while a clicking ambient effect and grooved percussion provide dance floor character. Building in effervescent fashion, reversed synth motifs vie with delicately delayed phrases as a plethora of spot effects swim enticingly around the listener’s head. Winding up after a dizzying breakdown, the third movement carefully combines all the elements introduced in the earlier stages through a mind-melting melange of frequencies that pitches and falls in an innovative wall of sound Phil Spector would be proud of.

'Emotion' is a high-octane offering powering forward with chest-thumping kick and immaculately syncopated percussive groove. White noise infused synth motifs soon fill the sonic spectrum as a rapid-fire 16th note bassline carries the melodic elements with ease. Full of emotion and beautifully flowing synth lines, the track reaches its musical zenith at the breakdown before hitting its stride in the second half where all elements converge in lay lines of raw power and emotion.

Dmitry Molosh's productions have graced Hope Recordings and Guy Mantzur's Plattenbank to name just a few, and supporters of his work include Max Graham, Matt Darey, Nick Warren and Hernan Cattaneo amongst others.
He is frequently guest on the radio shows of largest Internet radio stations such as : Proton, Frisky and Pure.FM.

Here he makes a welcome debut with three fine cuts, Kicking off with 'Fly' a dreamy and beautiful affair, that oozes class from every pore. Beautiful pads with a dreamy edge glide gently over the bouncing bassline, creating a soundscape of happiness as we build effortlessly. Meandering gently across the wash of warmth, while packing serious punch on the dance floor.

Next up is 'Counteraction', a mood setting intense gem, with its big gnarly bassy melodic stabs, laced with tinkling tones that culminate in to a sonic interspersion of wonder. A punchy little number thats set to cause a fuss with many a DJ from across the musical genres of the underground scene.

Keeping the quality level set to maximum, we find 'Delirious'. The title sums the track up nicely, as it works you in to a frenzy. Subtleness is the key here as this gem unfurls it melodies, while packing a mean driving affair. Solid beats, phat stabs, the cool riff and understated fx and squelches glue this all together wonderfully to create a bit of a beast!

Having launched 2016 with his 'Octavia' EP, Lost & Found boss Guy J returns home to kick start 2017, with a new double-header born out of moments in time, inspiration and a quest for a specific sound. 

"MDQ is named after the airport code of Mar Del Plata in Argentina," says Guy. "I played there with John Digweed earlier this year at MUTE. It's a party on the beach and, for me, was the best I've been to in my life and not just as a DJ." 

MDQ beautifully recreates and projects the warmth of the sun, uplifting vibes and postive energy that Guy felt on the sand that day. Its melodic charm and passionate delivery lifts the listener, transporting them to that most southern of shores. 

Diagonal, on the flip, was born more out of necessity. "I needed something with a transitional feel for my sets. A track that would allow me to segue to the next part, up the tempo and deliver a more groovy and seductive magic." 

Another delicious brace from the Lost & Found boss and a perfect selection to soundtrack the new year.

Presenting his first original project of 2020, Henri Hurtig aka Cid Inc. returns to Replug Records with a two-track artist showcase. 2019 proved to be another year of successes for the Finnish producer. The March release of his well received ‘Via Karela’ EP got the year underway, setting the stage for contributions to Hernan Cattaneo’s ‘Balance Presents Sunsetstrip’ compilation and the Armadillo Records ‘Fields, Vol. 1’ collection. October then saw Henri commemorate Replug’s ten-year anniversary with the Orsen collaboration ‘Ten’, before returning to Guy J’s Lost & Found Records with a chart-topping remix of Kasper Koman’s ‘Hi’ to round the year out in style.  Now following a remix for Einmusika to begin 2020, Cid Inc. lands back on his comfortable home of Replug Records with the much anticipated ‘Citadel’.

Having been a highlight and much requested track of Cid Inc’s recent gigs, it is the melodic wonder ‘Citadel’ which gets the EP underway. Rhythmically buoyant, it's rippling low end, spastic synths and fiery percussive set the piece on a course for aural enlightenment. Metallic accents steal the air at opportune moments as a quirky acid line rises into the main break. Effervescent modulation sizzles across the centrepiece, devilish and emotive in equal measure, eventually reaching a rousing crescendo as the groove drops for a storming finale.

Rounding out the EP is the equally excellent 'Rescue Me'. In carving out a distinctive groove, Cid Inc. has fashioned a strong foundation, flanked by layers of finely tuned percussion and rhythmic pulses. Charging forward, siren-like synths descend over the framework, adding a radiant glow as the breakdown commences. Moments of euphoric reflection encapsulate the centrepiece, before melting down to a trail of vocal fragments and charged beats.

As Cid Inc. embarks on what promises to be another memorable year, ‘Citadel’ not only sets the bar high but makes its mark as one of the winter season’s most sought after progressive house releases.

Re-Plug boss Cid Inc. steps up first on remix duties, as he continues to develop his own DJ and production career. His remix is a biggie, and in his hallmark vibe, he delivers a throbbing rework. Big bass and plenty of drive, and great utilisation of the melody, keeping us waiting for the big key changes. A monster rework

Nico Morano has been causing quite a fuss in recent years, with amazing roof top gigs and quirky locations gaining international attention. His label Atmosphere has been gaining in stature, and his releases on Sincopat, KATTERMUKKE and Récits de Mars have increased his popularity. Nico adds an air of sophistication to his rework, yet still packing a serious punch!
