Studio partners for years, the pair have carved out a niche sound that captures both artists’ love of electronic music and the souring soundscapes that conjure visceral memories on dancefloors the world over. Signed to everyone from Balance Music to Replug their no nonsense beats are a crowd favourite. 

Opening with ‘Arkeron’ The duo pick up from where they left off on their recent Showcrates offering, ‘Atunga’. Tough drums and rubbery bass framework a delicate arps and icy blasts of pad. A perfect heads down groover. 

‘Soular’ walks a slightly deeper path. Emotional and hypnotic, vocal adlibs and impactful sonics warmly greet you and entice you out onto the floor. A masterpiece of sound design that showcases the duo’s incredible connection. 

Finally, ‘Nassaukade’ hammers home the deepness with a groovy, low slung vibe for the early mornings just before sunrise. Rising slowly the synths are full of eastern promise and hopefulness. I fine ending to an outstanding collection of tracks.

Lisandro has become a firm favourite with the Proton faithful through his meticulously crafted music and elegant melodies. At the forefront of the underground dance scene with his smorgasbord of influences and genre-defying work, the Argentinean producer has seen his work feature on such esteemed imprints as Songuara, Amulanga and Pablo Bolivar's Seven Villas. A notable body of work can also be found on Lisandro's own Flug Lab imprint which continues to go from strength to strength as over a half-century of production credits chart a maturing path. No more is this evident than in February 2023's "Recurrence Soundtracks Netflix" which showcases a dozen electronica inspired pieces that formed the sonic background for the Netflix Spanish language film of the same name.

Proton Music has also seen the Lisandro sound well represented by both original and remix work. A trio of remixes for Erdi Irmak, Magitman and Cream saw the Buenos Aires resident make his presence felt in 2020 and 2021, before December 2022's "Traditions" took centre stage with its luscious soundscapes and head-shaking grooves.

Now returning to Proton Music, the "Eclectic" EP highlights another three tracks rich in imagination and elegant production work. In this musical triptych, Lisandro has explored a host of new ideas, giving rise to a powerful vision and unique sonic identity by pushing the envelope of modern electronic music. Perhaps the last word should be left to the artist himself, with Lisandro having the following to say about his new musical offering.

"I present to you my new EP: "Eclectic". This title reflects my vision of creating music that is a fusion of diverse influences and styles. "Eclectic" is a term used in the musical context to describe an approach that encompasses a wide range of influences and genres, blending them in a unique and original way. In this EP, I have pushed the boundaries of electronic music, merging elements from different genres to create an intriguing and diverse listening experience. Each track in "Eclectic" represents my passion for experimentation and the creation of unique sonic landscapes and club grooves. Immerse yourself in my eclectic musical world and discover the magic of style fusion! As an artist, I am thrilled to share this EP with you, and I hope you enjoy this musical journey as much as I did creating it. From the Macedonian city of Serres in northern Greece, Simos Tagias has created a colourful musical history full of progressive house flair and melodic beauty. Returning to Meanwhile for a third original EP, the Greek artist dazzles with “Skyline / A Memory”.

Over the course of more than 400 production credits, Simos Tagias has continued to flourish, carving out a unique niche within the progressive house fraternity as his reputation and passion to his craft continue to produce a rich seam of valuable underground dance music. After a debut on Lynx Records in late 2012, Simos has gone on to feature on a plethora of high-profile imprints with a portfolio of original and remix material on the likes of Juicebox Music, Proton Music and Hernan Cattaneo’s Sudbeat Music.

March 2021 saw a Meanwhile debut in the shape of the twin-track “Euphoria / Emotion”, before a second original EP in February 2023 found “Archaios / Geometric” taking centre stage. Remixes for Imran Khan and Alex O’Rion have been further notable highlights as Simos Tagias now return to the GMJ & Matter led label with a third original offering and the “Skyline / A Memory” EP.

Propelled powerfully forward with an unrelenting kick and smooth percussive groove, “Skyline” immediately hypnotises with ticking hats and subtly melodious woodblock phrasing. A sub-bassline enters the fray to add cavernous dancefloor depth, while delay-infused synth sequences meander atop the rhythm section. A sublime arpeggio enters the fray at the mid-point alongside a canopy of white-noise washes and textured pads before the track erupts into its third movement with full-bodied dancefloor character. An immaculate balance of rhythm and melody transpires throughout the second half as filtered phrasing makes “Skyline” an essential club offering.

A chunky bass sequence and heavy kick provide a strong and mesmerising opening to “A Memory”. A brooding, seething club monster, refined melodic passages and intelligent chord progressions create a fizzing and emotive energy that continues to build across the 7-minute track. As new counterpoint layers are introduced, the track’s multi-faceted nature continues to delicately expose itself like newly discovered memory fragments until the whole picture is revealed at the breakdown and into a satisfying denouement. The result is yet another classy work.

Rising once more to the upper echelons of the progressive house scene, Simos Tagias flies high via his “Skyline / A Memory” EP.
