White Material crew’s Galcher Lustwerk and Alvin Aronson return under the guise of Studio OST with a 4-track EP of live jams on Lustwerk Music. While the pair’s critically acclaimed 2016 debut ‘Scenes (2012-2015)’ leaned towards home listening, ’EVENTIDE / ASCENSION’ shifts the focus back to the dancefloor with two chugging cinematic house tracks. ‘Eventide’ is an evolving nebula of fluttering pads and lush percussion, while ‘Ascension’’s hot-electric drums are complimented by sharp synth chords that unfurl into controlled chaos. A beatless version of ‘Eventide’ and a drums only version of ‘Ascension’ sweeten the deal.

Next up on Hell Yeah is another fine transmission from Russia in the form of a Uninc & Kolomensky EP. There must be something in the water over there right now because the country is producing plenty of red hot sounds and this new four tracker is no different. 
Kolomensky just released an EP on UK label Clandestino, has been remixed by Hell Yeah’s Balearic Gabba Sound System as well as Felix Dickinson and has had his tunes played by none other than Andrew Weatherall and Leo Mas. Here he links with partner in crime Uninc and together they have a big arsenal of fat tunes that are wild in tempo, sample based, sprinkled with acid and set to get any party started. This is the first batch of them and it doesn’t disappoint. 
Up first is ‘Bastard’, a loose but body popping tune with 80s electro claps, prickly bass and all sorts of sirens, vocal samples and lasers adding detail to the prowling groove. ‘Doormos’ is more smooth and balearic, with drifting trumpets bringing a beach vibe to the classic vocal samples while ‘Into the Thing’ is a fantastic brew of synths, claps, 909 drums, boogie chords and general wonkiness that will liven up any set, especially with the *** ***** ***** vocal samples. Lastly, 'Svadba' is a full on and busy party tune with stomping drums, wild xylophones and tribal chanting getting you up on your toes with your hands in the air. 
These are four tracks that are packed to the brim with crazy sounds, effects, samples and colour, and they are a lot of fun.

It all started with a handful of cash but ended in eviction.

Always intended as a story in two parts, Jules Smith aka October's Eviction EP is the six-song follow up to his Pay Day EP, we unleashed in late 2018. An album's worth of material made 'just for Honey Soundsystem' Jules is back with his sleazy Prophet-one driven industrial disco.

As indulgent as the rave sirens and snare pummels on the title track seem, October's sheer mastery in production and studio mixing turn these tongue-in-cheek-in-your-face nightclub firecrackers into delicacies. Oh! And file 'Larry Bruce Chest Thumper' under Front 242 and i:Cube doing a line off of an iPhone together.
