Med School are extremely excited to present the “Losing My Mind” EP, our final release of 2014 and the debut solo release from the label’s latest signing, Anile.

Since joining the label back in May of this year, following a handful of releases on both Med School and Hospital, Anile has worked tirelessly to craft this elegant and sophisticated four-track EP. The title track combines bold brass stabs, brooding string sections and an indelible vocal hook into an alluring drum & bass roller. While Battleground Records prepares for the feast of Gizzards & Hearts, the sprawling debut LP from dynamic Las Vegas rock quintet, ONE TONE PROJECT, an early teaser trailer and its corresponding audio track from the record have been served up as a sampling of the smorgasbord being readied. Boasting an incredible array of influences into a cohesive, seamless, and explosively creative blend of what the band self-describes as “a bountiful cocktail of sounds on an oasis of rhythms,” ONE TON PROJECT is about to unload a record for fans of all realms of rock music.

Battleground Records will release Gizzards & Hearts this Spring on a 6-panel CD digipak and 180-gram, clear vinyl in gatefold packaging with a download card, limited to 300 copies, with a final street date to be confirmed alongside preorder packages in the coming days.

The influences and flavors of the past shine brightly within the particular elixir that is the ONE TON PROJECT sound with each further sampling by the listener. Tuneful gemstones pried loose from the gilded throne of King Crimson are ground up and blended with a bit of Frank Zappa’s mad genius and a healthy serving of the eternal groove handed down to the present day by the titans of soul and R&B, all of which sets and gels comfortably under a healthy coating of modern rock varnish. Between three guitarists, three vocalists, a bassist, and a drummer, along with the colorful tones of unconventional instruments thrown in to the mix, the end result is the sound of a band making the music they love and taking their time to do so, without the pressure of being involved in the stream of trends and temporary satisfaction. Rather, the band has scratched out a stake on the shores of that ungovernable island of artistry where strange trips and weird dreams are brought to life through song. Self-produced over the course of several years in the instrument crowded warren of the band’s own studio, the uniquely unorthodox recording possesses a variety of sound so mercurial, it is impossible to nail ONE TON PROJECT down with the constrictive restraints of any one genre. Traditional rock structures and soulful vocal patterns flow into the pulsing rhythms of reggae, jazz breaks fuse with the sharp timbre of Eastern scales, and catchy hooks create sparks as they clash with progressive post-rock soundscapes and bluesy phrases.

Few artists can say they released their debut album at the age of 19, even fewer can say they redefined what is possible within their genre. Bop, however, simultaneously achieved both with the release of his debut "Clear Your Mind" on Med School in the summer of 2009. He has carved out an unparalleled ice-cold sound by taking the rudimentary elements of drum+bass and effortlessly fusing them with ambient techno, IDM and minimal dubstep.

Now Med School is delighted to present five stunning re-interpretations of choice tracks from "Clear Your Mind", as some of the biggest innovators in drum+bass further enhance and amplify Bop's creations. First up on remix duty is Blu Mar Ten with an epic adaptation of "Nothing Makes Any Sense", characterised by outstanding organic drum programming, rapturous vocal melodies and a growling reese. "Tears Of A Lonely Metaphysician" is next in line as Lynx + Hellrazor stamp their authority on the opening track from Bop's debut album. The script is well and truly flipped, taking the dancefloor on a deep and dark journey with seemingly endless progressions and massive attention to detail.

Russian counterpart Subwave supplies deadly new rhythms on "Song About My Dog". The divine lead from the original remains in full effect, now underpinned by trademark Subwave beats and a brand new bassline progression to get down to. If that wasn't enough, we wrap up the EP with two remixes of "Enjoy The Moment". The first is a rolling amen rinse-out by Thinnen, the iambop.com remix competition winner, who edged out hundreds of other entrants by striking the perfect balance between elements of Bop's original and his own deep sliding bassline and breaks. The second is a heart-rending and melancholic dubstep rendition from fellow Saint-Petersburg urbanite Unquote, featuring chilling vocals and sumptuous strings.

Bop has revolutionised perceptions of music at 170bpm, these remixes are destined to push the boundaries even further and add to the lengthy list of support Bop has already received right across the musical spectrum from the likes of Mary Anne Hobbs, Christian Martin (Dirty Bird Records), Marcus Intalex, London Elektricity, Instra:mental, dBridge, Nerm & D-Code, Skream, Resident Advisor, DJ Mag, Knowledge, ATM and many many more.

Recent signing Metrik crashes onto the Hospital release schedule with this immense self-titled EP. Hot on the heels of his Essential Mix for BBC Radio One, Metrik has forged a reputation for producing top-notch peak time tunes with catchy hooks and uplifting vibes a-plenty.

Kicking off with "Break Of Dawn", Metrik takes no prisoners as the tune drops with vocals from Dynamite MC into a cacophony of souped up synth work with plenty of fun factor. This is an explosive dancefloor banger that is guaranteed to cause a ruckus. Next is "Out Of The Fire" with its undulating melodies and euphoric, rippling synths, which will have hands in the air across the world.
