Debut album release “Party’s Over” Radio 1 Album of The Week for Huw Stephens. BBC Introducing – massive support, the band have performed a 30 minute live set on BBC Intro South West and have been a BBC Intro Record of the Week nationally. Huge support from Steve Lamacq at 6 Music, band have been interviewed live on the show. Radio X playlisted. John Kennedy has played every release. The band have performed 2 live sessions on his show. “Every track they've released has been a hit as far as i'm concerned” - John Kennedy.

Live
The band sold out Old Blue Last, The Social and Paper Dress Vintage in London. Old Bakery Studios and Underland in Truro and Falmouth and near sell outs in Manchester, Liverpool, Glasgow and Cardiff. They have supported Liam Gallagher at The Eden Project, Frank Turner, Paul Weller, Yak, Wallows and more. They have toured nationally and have played Boardmasters, Y Not, Truck, Isle of Wight, Leopalooza Festivals. In Sept 2022 they were chosen by Michael Eavis to support Elbow at The Pilton Party.

2023 has seen the release of the Sucker Punch album to critical acclaim and saw the band support Trampoline on their national tour in April followed by festival appearances at Tunes in The Dune, The Great Estate, The Great Escape and a headline spot on the This Feeling stage at Truck Festival. Nov 2023 sees the band out on a headline national tour:

Fresh off a rebrand from The Golden Hour, Sunset Surrender reintroduces himself to the music scene, showcasing a deeper and more haunting sound with the latest single, "Lies, Lies, Lies!".

This compelling single delves into a world of personal anguish and emotional distress, drawing from raw experiences of workplace deceit and unfulfilled promises. It reflects a matured musical journey where each note and lyric resonates deeply with feelings of personal struggle and the moments of catharsis that ensue.

Crucially, "Lies, Lies, Lies!" heralds a transformative shift in Sunset Surrender's sonic landscape. While paying homage to the nostalgic undertones of his synthpop/synthwave origins, the track dives deeper into an evocative aura. The poignant lyricism of legends like Joy Division's Ian Curtis and the atmospheric touch of The Cure heavily influence this new direction.

Saytr play are an indie-pop outfit known for their electric live shows, in iconic venues (gorilla, broadcast, ebgbs...) And the festival circuit (great escape, ynot, neighbourhood, 110above...) alike. 

Sharing influence with Circa Waves, the strokes, sundara karma and cage the elephant, and recieving playlisting from radio x, Spotify (New Music Friday, Hot New Bands, Indie List) Amazing Radio and bbc introducing, the band have racked up over a million streams on Spotify & a dedicated fanbase. 

Following their hiatus, Saytr Play came back this year with 'The Butterfly Stitches EP', amassing over 150,000 streams, Editorial support on Spotify's Fresh finds and New Music Friday, playlisting on XS Manchester and national radio coverage on Radio X. Off the back of this success, Saytr Play sold out their headline show at Manchester's Deaf Institute a month in advance. 

Saytr play release 'Brother' on 1st September and headline Manchester's Canvas on the 8th September.

Is a very nostalgic song for me. Most songs touch on the subject of love, the only difference here is that I wanted to write a song about how much I love my mates. I wanted to share some of the story’s and memories we lived through in our younger years. Growing up in Moston (Manchester). The good times. The bad times. It’s celebrating he family we choose, in our case our brothers. Life is never plain sailing but I like to think that is about who you are with not where you are. In this industry iv met a lot of privileged people but I honestly wouldn’t change our upbringing for the world. I’m proud of where I’m from & I love my mates so I wrote a song about it. Enjoy.

The modern era of music has given way to enigmas and artists of all shapes and forms, shattering the norm of what have come to expect as far as what an artist truly is. None have approached it quite like Sunset Surrender, an artist that epitomises the essence of the modern era. A multi-talented musician, Sunset Surrender is orchestrated by Matteo Zandonella Bolco, bringing Retrowave Synth-pop music into the world by his desire to motivate, inspire, and comfort his audience while spreading love and joy to all who hear it.

    As his father traveled the world for work, Matteo consequently moved from country to country growing up, carrying with him a longing for a sense of home. There were few times he felt as hopeful as when his focus turned toward the future. While his heart always had an affinity for music, he was swept in many directions before turning pain into purpose and lessons into studio sessions. After needing to express in greater depth, this passion was concentrated into Sunset Surrender

    In creating music directly from the reflections of his experiences, Sunset Surrender has developed a songwriting style that is transparent, daring, and full of hope. While the songs are fun, they are multifaceted, holding many more serious undertones than at first listen. These songs push the boundaries of perception while inspiring and driving listeners to introspective conversations. Each piece is its own discussion, designed to turn memories and even sorrows of the past into light for the days ahead.

   Sunset Surrender is influenced by a wide array of musical talent, though accredits pivotal influences in his music to The Midnight, FM84, Timecop 1983, NINA as well as The Cure, New Order, U2, and Blink 182. In addition to its 80’s influenced Retrowave Pop style, music is emboldened with a sense of “Natsukashii,” a Japanese term roughly translating to 'nostalgia for a past that never was.'

  In late 2022 he released his debut album Lives Like The City, showcasing the depth of his lyricism in a unique piece of musical artistry. With a blend of authenticity, nostalgia, and outright delicious sound, there are many stories yet to be artisanally transformed by Sunset Surrender.

     Beyond the bright style that sets this work apart from contemporaries, a way to new expression is being paved. It may not be the music that 'changes the world,' but it certainly is the music that will change the people of the world.
