2022 is here, and Sangoma Records starts the new year with this special release. Superluminal (Kabayun & Yasmin) are back with their second EP on Sangoma Records. A common theme in science fiction deals with contact between humanity and life from other star systems, often enabled by spaceships that can travel at superluminal speeds. Here on earth, music is something that has the power to transcend cultural and linguistic differences and bring people from all walks of life together in a shared experience. This EP builds on this theme of bridging the divide between people through music and through the trance dance experience. Featuring two solo tracks as well as collaborations with Argonik, Daksinamurti & Eritas, this EP aims to take the listener on a journey towards a future that recognizes our shared humanity, towards a world-based on compassion and rationality.

Ethereal tones reminiscent of tribal chants and forgotten rhythms echo through the moss-covered ruins of a massive architectural construct. In the heart of the temple, the spirits of the jungle converge; their ethereal voices join together in a symphony of the unknown, rustling the foliage and shaking the ground of the entire jungle around. Superluminal is the project of Kabayun and his partner, muse, and wife Yasmin. Those who know them together are aware of how much of a symbiosis they are in various ways. She doing art to his music and vice versa - constantly inspiring each other. Now they have taken the next level by making music together! Superluminal is the next logical step and the result of both their energies and their love for each other as well as for psychedelic culture. With pumping basslines and twisted soundscapes, it’s the perfect sound to kick up some dust and shake your chakras! 

Faster-than-light (also superluminal or FTL) communication and travel are the conjectural propagation of information or matter faster than the speed of light.

The new project between Kabayun (Sangoma Records) and Yasmin celebrates the potential for psychedelic trance music to raise our collective consciousness to new heights. Just like their relationship, this project was born on the dancefloor, and is ingrained with the Goa spirit.
