Capturing the essence of the Crosstown Rebels and Robot Heart experience at Burning Man, DAVI’s selection of deep melodic odysseys for Rebellion are awash with the other-worldly magic of the Playa. A-side ‘Rebel Heart’ fuses ancient Eastern melodies with moody bass and mystical arrangements.  Second track ‘Anunnaki’ (a name denoting a group of deities in ancient Mesopotamian cultures) continues the theme of spellbinding, earthy tones and on the remix, Mark Jenkyns toughens up ‘Rebel Heart’ with a squelchy acid-flecked bassline, solid kicks and overlays of his own wonky synth structures. Last but not least the masterstroke ‘Two Suns In The Sky’ hypnotises the soul with rolling drum beats and epic chords as waves of spooky energy and polyrhythms punctuate the cosmic sunrise soundscape.

"The Rebel Heart party helped me find myself at Burning Man last year. The music was new and inspirational and I felt it deep inside of me. I was back in my studio within 2 days of returning from the desert, fired up by this new direction and I think I managed to create my own spin on this most magical experience and of course I sent it to Crosstown straight away".

On the milestone of our 5th release, we gave ourselves at Ritter Butzke Studio a very special gift - A release by no other than Schlepp Geist. He is presenting us his "Back to the Basics EP”: Please dive in with us too, and feel the unique theme in every single track of this piece. All along the EP, the honest "hand-made" House music surrounds you, riddled with vocals by Schlepp Geist himself. No bells and whistles here. Here's the second bootleg from our 90s mix. Everything you hear in this one is from 1996. This may or may not be the final mashup we ever do, so lets all turn a blind eye just this one last time. To all you brow-raisers, keep that bushy little caterpillar above your right eyeball nice and low. In the spirit of the 90s (and even in the spirit of some classic Soulwax), here's another bootleg to add some nostalgia to your next hip hop soiree.

We weren't very old in '96, but we were certainly listening to to enough music to know what we enjoyed. Even to this day, Jamiroquai remains and inspiration to our productions. Look no further than Foreign Language to catch a few glimpses of Cosmic Girl. The 90s mix was inevitably going to be hip hop, but we wanted to somehow sneak in a few other songs that were instrumental to shaping the decade and our tastes. It worked out as one of the most fortunate coincidences that Hypnotize and Virtual Insanity were in key together. And we know how naff it can be to throw a Biggy acapella over anything, but in tribute to that particular year (and even decade), we had to pay respect to one of the best in the game.

As a fun side note, the drums are taken from The Fugees - Killing Me Softly (also from 1996). This bootleg is so jam-packed with 1996'ness, it's one Slap-band away from turning into a Troll Doll.

Supernature was set up in 2007 by Audiofly to release music they were passionate about and was deserving of more attention. With a roster that has developed from this Barcelona-based duo’s global touring schedule, Supernature is truly an international family of artists, such as Kabuto & Koji (Costa Rica), Amelie (Ibiza/London), Fabio Gianelli (Italy), Ali Nasser (Romania), Alejandro Vivanco (Chile) and many more.
