Robert Babicz returns home to his excellent BABICZSTYLE imprint with five tasty treats for your ears and your feet. Here we find Robert integrating a lot of melodies, a stack of melancholic sounds and his beloved acid lines to beautiful effect, pushing his sound in a different direction, while still sounding like classic Babicz.

Starting proceedings we have 'Melancholy' that oozes with emotion, and subtleties, deep but warm, happy but sad, with a retro feel about it, yet as fresh a s daisy.

'Cats In Space' is an epic affair, it locks you in to its spell and undulates beautifully, as we are teased along gracefully through this voyage. Gently building and locking you in to its magical spell, this gem intensifies and is one of those magical tracks that sends crowds wild. Hints of yesteryear with its trance like nods, but brought back to date by Mr B.

'Far Away' is a deeper vibe, a little tougher, and out comes the 303, but in a restrained manor here, as this sound track style gem unfurls.

'Take A Walk At The Sugarside' is more restrained acid from Robert, adding melodies and warm, but with that underpinning grittiness.

And to close things off, the Acid Mix of 'Far Away'. The analog factor is take up a notch as we are treated to some 303 filthiness, yet shrouded in emotion.

Robert Babicz - Melancholy

Portugal's cutting edge electronic music label Piston Recordings reaches a double milestone in 2017 as it celebrates 10 years as well as its 300th release. To mark this occasion we get a dosing of deep house grooves on the two track 300 EP courtesy of label head honcho, Rogerio Martins. Since 2007 Rogerio has showed true grit and determination to get his label to where it is today, at the forefront of a worldwide scene where the sounds of Piston are championed by a multitude of top DJ's. The Piston ethos has been embraced by many artists and the demand is ever more popular and artists from around the world delight at the prospect of releasing their material through Piston which is why there is a consistent stream of quality cuts. Here's to another 300 releases and another 10 years!

No Gimmicks intros with a solid kick drum and cool shuffling hat arrangement that gets the rhythm flowing nicely before a super bright crispy hi hat joins in. A superb dancing, chunky bassline delivers a killer blow that will definitely get feet to the floors. Rogerio dishes out a real treat here, especially with the huge filtered piano chords that will attract the discerning clubber if only for its nostalgic appeal. A diva inspired vocal wails through the track beautifully making this an absolute stomper and a must have.

Secondly we have the deliciously warm and endearing Find The Love which intros with nice subby kick drums and a crispy hi hat combo. Smooth house chords fade in and we soon find ourselves engrossed in a lush groove. The track delivers a solid rhythmic flow thanks to tight drums and percussions while cool vocals bring in a clubby vibe. The bass resides deep within the sound here and will certainly give the bassbins a bit of work to do. A definite dancefloor contender here you do not want to miss.

With Topanga Argia sends another thick track on the its journey. A minimalistic shape, led into a dreamy direction by its melodic pads, pads stumbling over a bunch of irregular synthetic clouds completing the simple bassline.
 
As usual the guys from ALMA (GER) enchant with their way of picking a track apart. Their remix of Topanga is hot, a floorfiller, a absolut clubbanger! Various playful synth elements as topping and an insane bassline with bass additions beneath forming a deep pit. Driving material, finished by wicked drops and crispy drums.

Mit Topanga schickt Argia einen weiteren satten track auf die Reise. Minimalistisch geprägt, aber mit melodischen pads wird das ganze in eine verträumte Richtung gelenkt, in der vereinzelte synthetisierte Wolken erscheinen und die straighte Bassline somit ergänzen.

Wie gewohnt verzaubern die beiden Jungs von ALMA (GER) mit ihrer Art, einen track auseinander zu nehmen. Ihr Topanga Remix ist heiss, soll heissen, ein absoluter club banger. Diverse verspielte synth Elemente on top, wahnsinnige Bassline mit Bass additions darunter, welche eine tiefe Grube formen. Treibender Stoff, abgerundet mit abgefahrenen Drops und knackigen drums.

UFO Sound continues to establish itself with another vital new EP that this time comes from Peredel @peredel-11 . The UFO Sound label co-owner and host of UFO radioshow on Ibiza Global Radio, steps forward for his first solo EP. His previous releases in collaboration with Legroni & Tom Zeta have had massive support from many key artists on the scene. 
Whisper is first up and is a nice sparse techno roller with female vocals that are deeply alluring. Lead synths eventually come in to trip you out. Playing On Electricity is a melodic tech track with dancing chords that are pixelated and as the title suggests, electric. Underwater is a more deep rooted tune that wallows in the shadows, with lush pads and angelic chords eventually adding colour. Mermaid is more upbeat with a snapping percussive line and busy synths that wander about the mix. Runo closes out with another slick groove and slapping hits that will get you on your toes. 
This, then, is a fantastic EP once more from UFO Sound.
