When we look back in time, it seems like yesterday when we started having clandestine parties in the backyard of an old house or illegal raves in public parks in Buenos Aires. 

Today, a decade later, Playground has established itself as a respected squad based in Barcelona, a record label with a strong back catalog of over 50 releases, and a family of artists spanning the globe.
10 years have passed since this beautiful adventure started and we want to celebrate it as we like best... Dancing.

PREMIERE - Azaria - At The Gates (Massimiliano Pagliara remix) (Penrose)

Appearing for the first time on our humble premiere section, the promising Italian label My Secret Agenda opens its doors again for Hola Estrella, a rising & shining Venice-based duo whose previous works published on NEIN and My Secret Agenda itself have drawn the attention of the Indie Dance community to the sonority of these obscurity and psychedelia lovers. The forthcoming episode of their music journey is the remixes EP of the last summer’s well-received release “Amen” which counted with the collaboration of Mattia Bison for the title track. This time, besides the interesting Ritual Mix of “Amen”, Mmyylo, From Beyond (SXDNS329), and Eyjafjöll (SXDNS214) jumped in with their respective revisions.

Premiered here, Alex Wastnidge’s version of “Melody Mecca” is a sexy slo-mo chugg cut with a stunning acid attitude and an enticing oriental aura. Oh, you don’t know who Alex Wastnidge is? We don’t blame you, inasmuch as there’s absolutely no piece out there released under his name. But look it up From Beyond… then the search will be fruitful. The list of labels on which he had his endeavours put out is vast. To name a few: Boite Music, Paisley Dark, Paper Disco, Mélopée, Astrolead, Golden Soul, and NEIN. On the latter, he was selected as one of the artists to be part if our Takeover last year, by the way.

PREMIERE442 // Hola Estrella - Melody Mecca (From Beyond Remix)

Operating from sundered soils, Eftersom is a triangle formed between Ravage Sentimental, close collaborator Jérôme Darmois, and Chris Vella aka Moderne Romance. The term “Eftersom” is used as a nod to their cross-border bond, a bond galvanized by a simple love of music, unwavering creative drive, and a fair collection of imperfect studio gear.

With their LP “Lie” on Paradise Children Records lined up for the second half of 2023, here the trio present “Tourne Tourne”, a precursor to the project which comes coloured with remixes made with love by Niv Ast, Mufti, Radial Gaze, and Ravage Sentimental herself. Radial Gaze offers up two unique takes: a ‘Pop’ and an ‘Indie’ version, by the way. The prolific Russian duo, formed by skilled producers Andrey and Stas, spared no efforts to deliver such insightful interpretations. 

Premiered here, their 'Pop' remix lays pellucid twinkles over tight, sharp rhythms, bringing the energetic original to a journey through the low-BPM realm wrapped with a Synthpop crust and a sober but upbeat gait.

Duro Label is proud to present volume 10 of their rolling compilation series, "Muy Duro". New names for this issue include Mishell and UFO Club, as well as the triumphant return of Mijo, a masterpiece by Javier Ferreira and Persona RS, and a new cut from Heidenreich.The compilation starts off strong with "Shifting Sands", a collaboration between Javier Ferreira and Persona RS. It's a powerful, acidic track with dreamy vibes and rave influences. Next up is "The Toolmaster" by the one and only Mijo, a funky, surprising, and pleasurable track that's like a soul massage.In this volume of the "Muy Duro" series, we welcome Mishell with "Analyze", a cut more oriented towards the sound of house music, fresh, deep, and resonant. Heidenreich returns to Duro with "Not What U Dance", a booming cut with sharp and energetic synthesizers. Finally, to close out the compilation, we have UFO Club debut for the label with "Snapping Turtles", a minimal house cut with a solid drumbeat, playful percussion, epic break and a floating bass.

Spanish producer, Logic Records label boss, and Roam Recordings alumni Javier Busto teams up with Mufti aka Bernardo Barrera (½ of Los Fugazzi) to deliver the Dosis EP. The release comes with two original versions and two remixes. The first version by Javier Busto is a driving track with rhythmic synth and arp work underpinning Mufti's sultry voice. The second version is from Mufti himself who adds guitars and a bit of grit. Up first on the remix is Azaria who returns to Roam to bring an epic summertime remix of the original. Rounding out the EP is a stripped down beat heavy version from Roam Recordings boss Jason Peters.
