Leo Janeiro is back, this time with an EP as hot as the Rio de Janeiro sun and as refreshing as coconut water by the beach, standing as his first studio work in 2021. An old acquaintance of Brazilian and even international clubbers — since he has been active since the late 90s — he was responsible for countless nights throughout Brazil, performing at major clubs in the country, such as Warung Beach Club and D-Edge, to renowned festivals like Rock in Rio, Tomorrowland and Universo Paralello. However, music production is not aside. Leo occasionally focuses on the studio to create, always bringing something that reflects a little bit of his essence and experiences of many years running dance floors. And that is exactly what he shows in Joatinga EP, with two original tracks. "Joatinga" reveals warm synthesizers and percussive elements for you to bathe in Rio's beautiful beaches, especially in Joatinga. While “Moonlight Disko” serves as a perfect soundtrack to dance in the moonlight and forget the time, referring to the nostalgia of enjoying the dancefloor without fear of being happy.

Not only are there a LOT of releases under a whole host of pseudonyms but we’re talking diverse and coveted labels and a host of credits which show Nicola Loporchio has music flowing through his veins. With tougher-sounding music finding a home on Hot Haus and Royal Oak, his deeper leanings have been picked up by Dan Curtinfor Metamorphic and Sasha for Last Night On Earth, not to mention all his Balearic-inspired Cosmic Garden material. And now we’re proud to add Delusions Of Grandeur to that highly respectable list!
 
‘Got Me Coming Back’ is an EP in the old-school sense. Four tracks which give us four different sides of Nico Lahs, kicking things off with the title track and most club focused pick of the bunch. A punchy, percussive house groove with that touch of MPC swing Nico is known for lays the foundation for a funky bassline and incessant speech sample. Subtle string pads are introduced, adding a touch of widescreen atmospherics without taking away from the rolling vibe, creating one of those secret weapon tracks which will create just the right mood on the dance-floor. ‘Deep Down In My Soul’ melds crunchy live hi-hats, echoing piano chords and dubby analogue keyboard lines into something unique and other-worldly. Once again, the groove is kept rolling and unfussy, Nico working his magic with little touches of colour coming from his synths to compliment the minimal, stripped back arrangement.
 
Flipping over we have ‘Your Sweet Loving’ which drops the BPM a touch for a lowslung, slinky funker of a track which will sound so sweet at the after-hours. Off beat hats, flamming claps and noodling moogy solo might not sound like an instant hit but when you introduce deep stabs and killer bassline it becomes more then the sum of its parts.  Closing out this stunner of an EP we have ‘How’s Life?, that classic B2 kinda track which so often becomes your favourite on the record. Nico takes things in a jazzier direction cutting up fretless bass, fusion guitar lick, Fender Rhodes and filtering ride cymbals leaving us on a high and proving why he’s such a respected and consistent producer.'

"NODEN are house and disco duo Ollie Harvey and Dave O’Leary. In 2020 they brought their own uplifting spin on house and disco with the release of their Skinner EP. As with all their own releases it was crafted to reflect the kind of driving energetic records that fill their DJ sets.

Fast forward to 2021 and they are back with their 'DAS FUNK' EP due out late January on the formidable Midnight Riot Records, a label with a history of pushing the very best of the disco / house sound with previous artists including artists such as Late night Tuff guy.

PREMIERE: Paper Street Soul — Falling Down (Lanowa Remix) [Citizens Of Vice]

The second release on Alan Dixon’s Love Attack label comes from the man himself, delivering a dreamy new EP entitled 'Night Time Melodies’.

Following high-profile releases on Gerd Janson's Running Back and Jennifer Cardini's Correspondant, Alan moves to his deeper side kicking things off with ’Night Time Melodies’ - an infectious piano house workout that sees super-slick keys dance elegantly around a chuggy, bumping bassline and beautifully resonant synth licks. Once again demonstrating his unfaltering ability to craft alluring, feel-good dance music Alan offers up a slice of sun-drenched optimism.

The track also receives a groove-tinged remix from Kiko Navarro moving things into the main room. Punchy snares and shuffling hats set a footwork-provoking rhythm underneath energetic, stabbing piano chords, with Navarro gradually working in a delectable wobbling acid line ramping up the energy for a sense-tingling, euphoric re-work.

The release is backed up by 'Tell Me When’, a modern-sounding club track to be heard in places such as Berlin's Panorama Bar. Pillared by an irresistible bassline, Alan lays down a dusty kick-hat pattern, punctured by ecstatic claps and engulfed in a plethora of scintillating synths.
