The first EP on Note Variation was prepared by a debut producer, but by no means a newcomer to the broken beats, Subtraxive from Moscow. 
He brings you closer to the savor of orthodox mid-tempo breakbeat in the British style, inspired by the subtractive synthesis of the eternal classics of Roland, such as SH-101, TB-303, TR-808, TR-909.

Alexander (the real name of Subtraxive) was inspired by the latests music species of the early 00s. Each track is a proven ascetic antidote to the hybrid jumble of genres, but at the same time organically combines with many types of garage and house music for your pleasure of killing it on the dancefloor.

"Circles" steals the show with the mid-tempo sandstorm drums and mantra-spiral bassline.
The second track on the release “Unwind”, immediately teleporting you to the end of a night. Subwoofer health test tool. 
"With You / Without You" opens proceedings with a spiral of haunted acid bass and technoid hihat leaping in energy throughout.
"My Flow" is a subtle composition of euphoric synths and well-crafted sub-bass. These nostalgic early morning breaks scattered cut stylishly close off the EP.

"After escaping from Dr. Krank's planet, the three astronauts took refuge on an arid planet orbiting two stars. To repair their ship, they had no choice but to participate in a module race against a people of scrap metal enthusiasts of spices and multicolored pills. All seemed lost, when a stranger calling himself the chosen one slowed down time and allowed our friends to cross the finish line before their competitors. Our protagonists barely had time to feel a strong sense of déjà vu, when they had to steal a ship to fly to a satellite planet and avoid the participants' reprisals. This is their story."

In "The Sand Troopers", the quartet slows down the tempo and takes out the guitars for a funky ballad, with relentless drums, reminding their first collaborations. The vocoder and the groovy synthesizers write in turn a declaration of love to Daft Punk and to their French electronic heritage. This is even more apparent at the end of the track where the rhythm bursts and breaks up, reminding us of the classic productions of the robot-headed duo.

Luv Shack Records is celebrating 10 years with a set of classic tracks from the back catalogue getting remix treatments for todays dancefloors on the Retroscope 01 EP.

The opening track is a remix of Space Echo's "Come Back Home" by none other than Norwegian producer extraordinaire Prins Thomas. His 11 minute revision of the 2014 hit balances countless layers of funky guitar riffs, moogish leads und meticulously layered disco drums, resulting in an ever evolving trippy cosmic masterpiece.

Hot on the Heels of Prins Thomas' remix, ROTCIV takes Rising Seed´s "Train to Kismarton" to Italo town, adopting only the eerie western guitars from the original, whilst building a wonky 80s sound carpet of analogue arpeggios and punchy DMX drums around it.

Next up, Luv Shack newcomer Endrik Schroeder takes on "Wake Up" by Neon Amish & Space Echo. His remix blends the synth goodness of the original with powerful disco-house drums, unleashing a hi-energy vibe thats both uplifting and nostalgic, once encorporating the vocals of Tarek Farwati on the original remix and leaving even more room for the synth pads on the dub remix.

The Golden Boogie Connection delivers their super lush rework of Space Echo´s "Soul Power" with a tight, organic groove, witty extra instruments such as funk guitars, disco strings and beautifully light footed vocals. What a package!

With "Ridin' High" perhaps being one of the most classic Luv Shack tracks, Lee Stevens takes on the task of remixing himself as Rising Seed, opting for a laid back dub house style with bonus pan flutes, ghostly Melotron strings and a ton of spring reverb.

A wonderful view opened to my gaze while I was sitting on a small cosy balcony – the powerful Apennine mountains in the distance – their peaks were caressed by delicate velvet clouds. This view brought something beautiful yet at the same time something disturbing that was limiting my sight of them.

Suddenly I saw a flock of migratory birds flying south and their sudden presence gave me a feeling of joy. I was happy for them, because despite the difficulty of the flight they are free, and their sight is not blocked.
