The haze of Paral·lel festival has barely lifted, but we’re rewinding to another moment worth lingering on, February in Granada, at the Moonback club. There, under the warm glow of the Extramostra banner, Mostra linked up with the Klub Collective for a night that balanced local soul with an international touch. The lineup reads like a heads-only dream: Timnah, Antonio Vázquez, Refracted, and a solid core of Klub Collective residents including Fran Acosta, Kaizen, and Utopian. The kind of night that reminded us why the first slot matters more than most people admit. It’s the architectural role: shaping the night’s flow from zero.

Utopian did just that. His set unfolds like a slow exhale, dub-laced ambient that creeps, swells, and gradually transforms into chugging, low-slung techno hypnosis. It’s a patient climb: syncopated, restrained, precise. Not a single cheap move, just deep focus and floor logic, the kind that sets the table without stealing the meal. But make no mistake, this was a statement. A warm-up that didn’t just support the night, but elevated it.

For our twenty sixth installment we’ve invited Minù Jr, a DJ and producer based in France. He describes himself a as multifaceted project in constant evolution, always in search of new influences.

His music stands out with a hypnotic universe that blends deep techno pulses with sound experiments, creating an immersive atmosphere during his sets.

Last year, he joined the roster of the Lyon-based collective/label Monochrome, releasing an EP titled Qabam — four tracks of synthetic drum’n’bass tinged with dub.

Lately, he has been exploring live performance alongside another producer in the same genre, Tampo.

Some words about this mix:
“In this mix, I've embraced a slower tempo, which has been captivating me lately. Tracks with lower BPMs have become increasingly appealing, and I've been producing quite a few of them recently. They play a key role in my live set with my friend Tampo.

This podcast maintains a steady pace at 120 BPM, featuring tracks from artists I've been listening to for a while, along with some new discoveries.
I hope you enjoy this humble journey.”

Some DJs treat genre boundaries like walls; others see them as doors. Craig Gonzalez belongs firmly to the latter camp. A staple of Detroit’s underground and a resident DJ at Paxahau’s Third Thursday monthly, he has long been drawn to what happens when techno’s linear propulsion collides with the restless syncopation of drum & bass. That liminal space, the “grey area” between the two, has become one of the most fertile playgrounds in electronic music over the past decade, and Gonzalez shows why. In this mix, recorded as the opening set on the Movement main stage, he handles tempo as a fluid variable, shifting gears without friction and letting polyrhythms function as the connective tissue. It’s the kind of approach that resists the obvious peak and instead builds a topology of groove, a groove that bends but doesn’t break, carrying dancers across time signatures almost without them noticing. 

And while opening a stage that would later host Deepchord, Sama’ Abdulhadi, Octave One, and Jeff Mills could be seen as a daunting warm-up role, Gonzalez treats it less as preparation and more as architecture. Across ninety minutes, he layers patterns with patience, calibrating intensity so that tension rises and releases without tipping into spectacle. The set moves like a conversation that shifts from whispers to declarations, never overstated but always persuasive. It’s a reminder that flow is not just sequencing but narrative logic, and that true mastery lies not in domination of a dancefloor but in shaping the conditions for everything that comes after.

Hydration Mix Series May 2016 Willisist

So when I set out to make this mix, I had the simple vision of a dancefloor friendly feel good blend of uplifting soulful music. But when I work on a mix I like to let the music lead me, in a way, and I gradually found myself in a darker spookier place.  I considered back tracking and making different decisions, but decided no, darkness can't just be avoided, the more important journey is how we build up out of it. I'm really glad I left this as is, and I think I've accidentally painted a pretty good portrait of how I feel about the world right now.  I'm an optimist at heart, I truly believe that good will triumph as long as people can envision a better place and work towards it.  Share ideas, solve dilemmas, talk about solutions and everything's gonna be alright.

Deep Jackin' House? Smooth Tech House? I don't even know what sub-genre this is called, but it's my favourite right now. Nothing too abrasive. Just sexy vocals, and sweet basslines. I don't get to play this stuff out very often. The longer breakdowns aren't great for the dancefloor. This is catering more to the afterparty crowd.
