Dissolved Ego

Peralta, of anglo-portuguese descent, started at the age of 13 as an event organizer and DJ, playing mainly House and Acid-House mixed with original beats made on a Commodore Amiga using Tracker. 
He later moved to the UK to train as an Audio Engineer at the Peoples College of Nottingham, always developing sampled soundscapes and trippy fx, just for fun. 

Upon returning to Portugal and to the Rumos professional school to train as a systems engineer, he joined forces with Fred (Suria) and João (Audialize) and started steering towards the local Trip-Tech and Psytrance scene that was starting out at the time. 

With extensive knowledge of outboard gear, the initial investment and practice with analogue synths paid off and the Psytrance  project Mind Manipulation was born. The live-act soon followed and gathered momentum from 2000 to 2003, having released a few original tracks and collabs, on both local and international labels. 
As the Open-Air party scene started to fade, he worked as a freelance audio engineer for Theatre and Video Production companies in Lisbon and was later called upon to make 2 Drum n Bass remixes of sucessfull hip-hop tunes. Both tracks were released on CD and Vinyl.

In 2005, the return to the UK and his eventual settlement in Bristol help with the initial development of his unique style of Drum n Bass, Dubstep and Breaks,  complemented with mind blowing synths, sweeping soundscapes and heavy basslines.  

Every track is a voyage into the realms of the unknown, with heavy improvisation and a feerless approach to structure.

The Sounds Of James is a producer/beatmaker from New York City, known for crafting music across a wide spectrum of genres, including Hip-Hop, House, Techno, Drum & Bass, and more. Rather than settling into one sound, he reinvents himself with each project, exploring the unique textures, rhythms, and structures that define these styles while blending them with an unconventional, experimental edge.  

His approach is deeply rooted in pushing sonic boundaries - layering intricate drum patterns, manipulating sound design, and incorporating unexpected elements that challenge traditional genre norms. Whether it’s the raw energy of Drum & Bass, or the hypnotic groove of House, the old Boom-Bap style with a Glitchy twist, every release is a testament to his commitment to artistic evolution.  

By constantly reshaping his creative direction, The Sounds Of James ensures that no two projects sound alike, offering listeners a fresh and immersive experience with each release. His mission is not just to produce music but to expand musical horizons, engaging a diverse audience that appreciates innovation and unpredictability in sound.

Independent electronic ambient artist, crafting immersive soundscapes that blend atmosphere with deep exploration of texture and tone. My compositions are shaped by the active imagination described by C. G. Jung and the vivid landscapes of my dreams, translating emotions into evolving auditory experiences.
Influenced by ambient minimalism and deep bass tweaking with VCF filters, my music layers rich harmonics, resonant frequencies, and fluid transitions to create enveloping and transportive journeys.

I have not been able to recover access to my other account [https://soundcloud.com/ha-kekong] for a couple of years.  I have tried a few times to get back into it but SoundCloud doesn't trust me.  Same phone number, same email addresses, and they still claim that they can't verify my identity.  I created that account about three years ago as a substitute to my regular account which SoundCloud temporarily closed.  They closed it as part of some upgrade procedure in their system, the result of a bug that affected many accounts, about two years ago.  Since SC did not inform its users I didn't know if that was permanent or not, so I created that other account which I can't access.  Don't be mad if I have not replied to your message in the past two years, that's because I never got them ; ) ... You can always reach me here though.

You can't see it because of the angle with which I took the shot, aiming down, but beyond those blocks is the sea.  To the left is the Mediterranean, to the right is the Atlantic Ocean.  No it's not Gibraltar, but a little bit further West. ... Actually I checked recently and it is further North more than West, I thought I was facing South when in fact I probably was facing the Atlantic ocean, which is why I suppose the waves were of a decent size where we were.
