Hidden Shoal has earned a reputation for releasing exciting and engaging new independent music that is not bound by genre or style. The label was chosen as one of Textura magazine’s favourite labels, has been dubbed “This generation’s 4AD” by prominent New York radio host DJ Mojo, and has been described by The Mountain Goats’ frontman John Darnielle as “one of the great wonders of our age”.

DUBXL, a.k.a Kyne Beattie is an Electronic Music Producer/Artist from Christchurch(NZ), originally hailing from Palmerston North(NZ). 
An instrumentalist from an early age, this self taught musician is now slave to the studio, with an obsession for beats and bass. 
With inspirations drawing from a very diverse musical background, DUBXL produces with passion, experimenting in all things electronica, all fused together with elements of Dub, Funk, Soul, Jazz &amp; Rock. 
Over a decade's experience as a Dj, when he's not in the studio he's out playing clubs radiating his unique sound, influenced by a love of Soul & Funk, and a lust for Deep & Dark..
DUBXL has played support for Kiwi artists such as Tiki Taane, State of mind, The Upbeats, Truth, Trei and the Nomad.. Also supporting international artists such as Andy C, London Elektricity, Danny Byrd, Cyantific, Logistics, DC Breaks, Jakes & Borgore.
