This is the record I’ve dreamt of making for years now. A polarising trip that wanders between the ethereal and the turbulent. An experience that lulls the listener into a stasis, before reminding them that everything is probably not as it once seemed in this safe place. Much of my group and solo work up until this point can be characterised by being quite highly conceptual - whereas creating this body of work felt very much about going through quite a symbolic process of honesty with myself. That polarising sonic landscape represents figures in my life and elements of the past, and I’ve reached a point where I feel confident enough to present myself and my music in this way as it’s the truest connection to me I can offer the listener. The boundaries of the diverse sonic landscape are pushed further by collaborations with people that truly inspire me creatively. A Safe Place In Cyberspace includes features from acclaimed visual and sound artists like BABii, and drummer Adam Betts, praised for his work with the likes of Squarepusher and Jarvis Cocker. When asked who truly inspires me, I never even consider figureheads within popular music and widely celebrated artists - I think of my friends and creators within the circles I feel lucky enough to find myself within.

Samuel’s new music is rooted within the realms of electronic music, but his taste for classical composition and experimental jazz can be found as you turn the corners through the track listing. If you get a sense for where you feel the music is taking you, you can also find equal weight in its counterpart. At moments throughout the album you’ll be deep in abrasive club focused dance music, only to be expeditiously taken to an empty room within the clubs confines, where Samuel sits at an upright piano.

Samuel is a founding member of the experimental jazz group, The Physics House Band - whose work has included collaborations with Stewart Lee, as well as many tours and notable performances worldwide alongside artists like Alt-J, Django Django, Omar Rodriguez-Lopez and Jaga Jazzist. The group have received high praise and support from The Guardian, The Independent, The Sunday Times, NPR, BBC Radio and Antony Fantano.

For young Berlin artist INDOME, seeking the stage spotlight whilst fostering a loving community around her is a transformative practice to emancipate from trauma and grief. What might seem contradictory – striving for independence against being emotionally available to her peers – goes hand in hand for INDOME.

Her debut album “Permission To Feel” is the emotionally striking testament of a talented, warm hearted girl with Southeast Asian roots, who grows up to be a woman in the south of Germany and Berlin. In the midst of the turmoil that is coming of age she had to deal with losing her Indonesian father. To process the loss and deal with new questions about identity, she eventually found solace in writing about it. Her album “permission to feel” explores the power of vulnerability: “I wanted to create a space where all emotions are allowed to be felt—whether positive or negative.”

Tracks like “Shame Ya” and “Permission To Feel” deal with shame, emotional repression, and the struggle for self-acceptance. “Island Girl” pays tribute to her Indonesian roots and her father with original field recordings from Bali, while “I’ll Be Alright” offers a light-hearted celebration of friendship and resilience.

Written and mostly produced by INDOME herself, the 10-track album blends intimate R&B vocals with contemporary electronic sound spheres, like Drum’n’Bass and Jungle. While taking the creative lead, INDOME collaborated with a talented cast of friends, many of them creatives from her hometown Freiburg who moved to Berlin alongside her. She wrote “I Choose You” together with her band collective kitch. Band member and experimental jazz artist Calida Ray plays piano on multiple songs. The band’s drummer, Leevi Lamadé alias LOUSELV, co-produced “Blurred Out Path” alongside JOHN PLAYER, another of her hometown affiliates. Just like Euro Chan who mixed the album with INDOME and produced three songs with his Berlin buddy Hazy030.

As part of a young, vibrant creative community in Berlin, INDOME created a visual campaign created in close collaboration with young creative duo Laís Yukie de Souza Takano and Joe Huth alias MEANT2B\ONFILM. The visuals tackle themes like addiction, eating disorders, queer expression, and self-empowerment—amplifying INDOME’s mission to create space for emotional truth and human connection.
