With this track inspired by New York boom bap, Roots Raid marks a foray beyond reggae, their preferred style, to explore the world of old-school hip-hop. The beat is based on the characteristic sounds of boombap: a punchy rhythm, deep bass, and elaborate samples, evoking the classic productions of the 90s New York scene.

On vocals, Marina P brings a unique touch with English lyrics written in the form of haiku, a short and refined Japanese poem, often conveying a subtle moral, similar to the fables of Jean de La Fontaine.
