Today, it is with great trepidation that we introduce an artiste who undeniably needs no extra introduction. 
Galaxian has made a crucial contribution to modern electronic music at once de-constructing and turning it on it's head while making bold strides into unexplored territories.
Often recognised as a pioneer & innovator of an increasingly singular sound his inventiveness is only surpassed by his ability to mine consistently new seams of sound, rhythms and intricate arrangements.

A specially recorded mix for our podcast consists of new and unreleased Galaxian tracks, Naix, DJ Stingray, Klockworks, Lord Jalapeños, Tresor, Aphex Twin, Rephlex and more.

Which artists has influenced you the most?

- I’d have to say Aphex Twin, mainly his earlier works, I've been revisiting some of that stuff and bits that passed me by.  Also early Underground Resistance. DJ Stingray has been a big influence for a long time and continues to be. Tons of others from various life stages, too many to mention. It usually single pieces of music that influence me the most, that can be all it takes.

What new projects/releases with your participation are expected in the near future?

- I released five albums in three years between 2021-2023 so I took a step back from putting big works out for a rest, to re-appraise my work process and develop various aspects of what I do. I've went a long way towards that and I think you'll hear that in my next few releases. You're going to hear some examples of that in the mix as I dropped a few new demo tracks in there.  I'm planning some big releases and a different approach but can't say anything about those right now, I have a Naix track coming on ‘We Are Not Alone Pt. 7 (VA Compilation BPitch) on June 7th, 2024.

Which artists/labels is more relevant to you now?

- Same as question one. DJ Stingray, Aphex Twin, Underground Resistance? I'll be honest I find it really difficult to find many contemporary artists that I like who are consistent, who have built up a fantastic oeuvre. There's plenty of artists that do a few good things. Given that I end up disliking a lot of my own tracks, it's no surprise. I have a very high bar, maybe too high, certainly it keeps me from being complacent. Recent enjoyable listens are Cocktail Party Effect, Mumdance, 47x47, Anna Z, Scalameriya, Evar Records, Tresor Records, Ilian Tape, Lakker, Micron Audio, Rephlex.

What inspires you now to create music?

- Mostly the fact that others are not creating what I'd like to hear so I feel compelled to do it myself. A lot of ideas come from my studies in the fields of metaphysics, non-dualism, mysticism, anarchism and associated areas, travelling, everyday living and encounters. The "human" experience I suppose, whatever "human" actually is. I really thrive on all of that. When I hear a great piece of music by someone else I want to get in the studio and try create that stimulating feeling for myself.  I'm a big movie buff, I particularly enjoy some soundtracks and the sound design of certain films, that can be really inspiring too.

What set-up do you use when creating music?

- Nearly all the Galaxian output has been done in FLstudio with various 3rd party plugin synths & FX. Naix has been mostly created with Native Instruments Maschine. In the last 18 months I started getting some new hardware, like Elektron Digitakt & Digitone, I love creating Naix stuff in Digitone, it's brilliant for that. I just got a lovely used MPC Live 1 and an Elektron Analog 4, I've been tinkering with those.  I can see more and more of a shift towards integrating the hardware and doing full DAW free hardware sets, which I've already done as Naix.

BORGBORG is a producer and DJ from Düsseldorf, Germany. Moving freely in different styles of electronic music, her focus is avant-garde driving techno and dark hypnotic vibes seamlessly blended with deconstructed beats, noise and timeless elements of IDM. With her conceptual project duo Fractal Void, she creates a mixture of electronic and classical composition sculpted to artificial landscapes and unsettled futuristic elements. Their debut EP „Elemental Collection“ was recently released on the legendary Berlin label Intergalactic Research Institute For Sound. 
She is a founding member of About Repetition and the techno event-series „SCHLEIFEN“.
