All vocals and lyrics by Shawn Wernette, poems and otherwise.
Drums and various percussion by Michael Wayne Griggs.
Recorded in the fall of 1989 in the basement of the Shafer house on the lake
in Horton, Michigan.
Other musicians on this recording include BJ Walraven, Jerry Weston, Del Herwatt, Tim Durkee, and sometimes Jason Redman.
The Vegamatics was originally Nathan Lee Shafer, Tim Durkee, and Jason Redman aka Tri Clone hip hop trio. Shawn Wernette (that's me) joined after their breakup and revamped the trio alongside drummer Mike Griggs. We recorded three or more cassettes on a two track recorder with overdubs and we played all the instruments. These are a collection of the best of tracks from Half A Person and the Vegamatics. There will be unreleased tracks coming in the future.
All of these tracks were recorded by Nathan Lee Shafer and then remixed and mastered by Harold Larue. Thanks to Harold for volunteering his time and energy to our music and art. Also thanks to the many forgotten indie labels, 'zines, and musicians and artists who inspired us in the 90s including the Lime Giants, The Deans, Kill Devil Hill/Bantam Rooster, Wally Pleasant, and the fine folks of Imaginary tapes in Lansing and Kenny and Norm of Etch magazine,
