After falling in love with last month's release of Retinal Pathology, we're excited to bring you more of Enviado Vida. A prerequisite to a summer full of melodic deep house, "Equilibrium Law" perfectly sets the tone of warmer days to come. 

As the release title implies, "Equilibrium Law" graciously balances us between a state of wonder and peace. Floating among the keys, we're continuously submerged with bass, invoking a complex appreciation that can't be fully understood by words. With the energy carrying over, "People Never Change" blends itself with gentle chord progressions and soft hi-hats, eventually falling into a bed of ambience only to be awoken once more. An array of ambience with a hint of momentum, "Caffeine" unwinds the mind in a syncopated calmness of reverberated percussions and piano progressions, allowing the necessary space to experience and appreciate the expansiveness of subtlety.

Into the Oblivion is the debut EP of syrian talent and Nie Wieder Schlafen homegrown Quatri. The project itself has been in a constant change for over half a year, re-working, scrapping and adding tracks to the EP – forming it to a true testament of his exceptional work as a 20-year old producer. Radically different remixes from rising star Kincaid and bassline-forging master Rudy complement the EP and raise it to a level of rarely seen quality. A 5-tracker EP, that was refined and burnished to one of the best products we have put out yet.

We were introduced to our young talent with a track called „La Mer Orientale". At that time oriental/world music was close to its pinnacle, but something about his production stood out, a sort of progressive groove, a different spin we adored. With it being the only track that has never left the tracklist of the EP, it has seen quite a few re-visions until it had eventually evolved into a hypnotic, dreamful production – leaving it's Original sound behind, while keeping it's main melody. Its evolution, its significance for the artist and its final soundscapes has arguably made it into one of the best tracks of the EP.

The inspiration for the continued, collaborative work with Quatri has led us to our 2nd Showcase in Berlin. Him headlining the night with truly inspiring music formed the EP's main title „Into the Oblivion" – a tribute to that night. Written in shocking speed, this awe-inspiring production leaves behind a lasting curiosity for sound-engineering. Emotions layered over electrical-transformations bring a sense of two dissimiliar topics clashing against each other fusing into something new. These rare sounds are then brought into a dynamic arrangement from 4-to-the-floor rhythmics to a UK flavoured downbeat final.

The birth of Quatri's signature sound lays in „Ozora". A fusion of moog-synth basslines and the oriental sound of his origins brought a new sound to the scene, quickly praised by respected people in the scene like Jonas Rathsman and Edu Imbernon. Played and awaited by many people it makes us happy to we have it back in our selection.

Our hugely praised talent Kincaid seemed to be the perfect selection for a re-vision of „Into The Oblivion", since he had previously formed a similar sound on his collaborative with Sinál. Rather than pushing for the obvious madness, already built in with the originals main lead, Kincaid brings it down a notch, for a rather mysteries and creepy approach. Tempting teases and distorted chord progressions bring experimental feeling to the remix, while keeping you sane with recurring harmonies and structed layers, keeping you in the loop of constant oblivious atmosphere. A remixing not only takin' in the Originals core melody, but also its theme.

Finishing it off with haunting flute drafts and a brutal bassline lead for warehouse spaces, Rudy build on Quatri's new developed sound and undoubtedly went beyond it. An unforgiving, minimalistic production, that concentrates so well on Rudy's true power and love for engineering basslines. A gripping and tense ride, that gives the listener the final blow, leaving him with utter satisfaction, while still left behind with a feeling of wanting more.

This uplifting track is made mainly with field recordings taken by the artist on a recent trip around the deserts and rainforests of Australia. It was inspired by the story of Kajura, the name given by the Ingarda people to the Rainbow Serpent in the Aboriginal mythology of Australia. 

Legend has it that the Rainbow Serpent came from beneath the ground and created huge ridges, mountains and gorges as it pushed upward. It is understood to be of immense proportions and is in control of life's most precious resource, water. When a rainbow is seen in the sky, it is said to be the Rainbow Serpent moving from one waterhole to another and explains why some waterholes never dry up when drought strikes. 

On his trip, the artist was also inspired by natural phenomena such as the Desert Rose, a beautiful flower which blooms in the middle of the arid wilderness, and the Garden of Eden, a verdant oasis in a canyon close to Uluru Rock, the lush greenery of which casts a stark contrast against the orange rock formations. 

And so the story of Kajura, the Rainbow Serpent, reminds us that we can find life and beauty in the unlikeliest of places.

Here it is - Kotu's first podcast of 2018 and it’s a special one. Kotu is the name chosen to represent the Bath(UK)-based duo Tom Chambers and Will Spence. They share a love of mixing and producing records and hot sauce. 

Kotu opened the podcast with their remix of Quatri - Jana, set to be released soon on Oleeva, as well as other unreleased Oleeva and Nie Wieder Schlafen tracks such as their very own Shungite From Karelia. The mix begins and ends relatively peacefully, but builds to quite a peak at mid-point thanks to a selection of high-energy tribal tunes from Nandu and Traumer, as well as tracks from London-based duo Wayward’s brilliantly titled EP Good Morning Mr Magpie. 

The duo firmly believes in the mysterious, often unexplainable power of music and sound which they seek to express through this chapter.

Just Emma is this undeniable force that is taking over the world. I know, I see it happening. I started following the two a little over a year ago. I found them on one of my most adored nights in solitude. Losing yourself in music in the darkest of nights. No emails, no calls, nothing but music. I fell in love with them, their sound. The magical way of The Gardens is that we got connected at one point in time.

WhoMadeWho are that rare thing, a band with their own sound. And their latest longplayer ‘Through the Walls’ adds yet more fuel to the restless, fluctuating bonfire. It sounds as if they won’t cool off or settle down anytime soon and their new single ‘Goodbye To All I Know’ demonstrates that in remarkable fashion.

Recorded as one of the last songs for the album in September 2017 the track is actually based on a demo for the solo project of singer Tomas Høffding but “ended up being a perfect choice for the song”.

‘Goodbye To All I Know’ was produced in an analogue way with a lot of different synths and real time knob turning. “And then we added more analogness when we teamed up with Simon Littauer who fired up his big ass modular setup for some great ambient additions” adds Høffding.

Rounding things off WhoMadeWho line-uped a top draw remix package for 'Goodbye To All I Know'. The brooding, experimental original is taken to town by the likes of Marvin & Guy, Eagles & Butterflies, Yuksek and Fell Reis

Kicking off proceedings, Permanent Vacation affiliates Italian duo Marvin & Guy deliver their aptly named 'Cosmica Remix', a subtle intergalactic groover that will entrance dancefloors from Berlin to LA. Following on, the ever-impressive Eagles & Butterflies delivers a darker, rolling Techno edged cut of sonic brilliance. Next up and stripping it back, Fell Reis treats us to two cuts, a subtle Day mix and club focused Night Remix constructed for the depth of the club. Finally, and perhaps saving the best till last, French production wizard and Partyfine label boss, Yuksek delivers groove laden acid-tinged reinterpretation that will ignite the dancefloor

‘Through The Walls’ the trio’s 6th full-length studio album was released on 19th January 2018 and is available digitally and in stores worldwide. The album features the already previously released singles ‘I Don’t Know’and ‘Dynasty’
